Here is Stardock's point of view on updates so that everyone is clear: 1) There will continue to be updates in the game. And just like with other multiplayer games, there will be people who don't like a given change. Even I don't like every change in the update but we all have different opinions on what makes sense and what doesn't. 2) Users who don't like updates do themselves a real disservice when they make melodramatic posts about it. If people aren't going to

My main box for playing Sins on is an IBM ThinkPad T60. Not exactly a mega machine.
I agree with most of these suggestions. What do the rest of you think?
Don't you think you're being a wee melodramatic? An "emergency" patch because you personally don't like the fact that relatively minor tweaks were made to some units? It's not crashing. It's not "broken". YOu just don't like unit changes? Seriously, do you realize how much you damage the credibility of your position when you use such terms as "emergency" patch? No matter what, you will always have some people who don't agree with a given units hitpoints or cost or whatever.</P
Banned jerk user. Let's be straight forward here: In November we announced that we would have DeskScapes 2.0 publicly available in February. We have failed to have a stand alone public version available for a variety of reasons, primarily, the difficulty in dealing with so many different hardware configurations on Vista. We have DeskScapes 2.0 beta on Object Desktop. ODNT users are more used to dealing with beta software and are giving us feedback which we're w
Hi! Can you give us some more of your hardware / software specs? Usually that time at start up is spent evaluating your system. It sounds like it's running into something it wasn't setup to handle.
Incidentally, now that WindowBlinds 6 is out, we can get ready to release the Magic suite. Just waiting for some updates to Theme Manager now to support some of the new bits.
Well THAT is certainly a bug!
Can you tell us a little bit about your setup?
It's in release candidate mode right now but QA and marketing havne't had a chance to open a slot for DesktopX 3.5 yet (how's that for getting some TMI on the inner workings of a commercial software company? ).
ONe of the problems we've had is that the video drivers on Vista have been so poor so far. So we had to delay any serious development on Vista for something like WindowFX until we had a chance to see how the drivers would evolve.
As an easy solution, uninstall WindowBlinds 5.51 and then install WindowBlinds 6 from scratch.
Unfortunately no. The reason is that XP (and Vista) are basically running skins that are in a replacement of Classic just as WindowBlinds is. So it's either classic or a theme.
Curious - which features of IconX do you consider absolutely most important. As we develop a new version of this, we are kind of in the position of having to actually lose features to gain compatibility. So we need to find out more about what are the most important features of IconX to people. Basically, what do you use IconX for in particular? <img src="http://images.st
This on XP or Vista?
A screenshot would be handy to visualize this if you haven't already resolved it.
The answer is "Yes". It's in QA now. Just been incredibly busy with the WB6 launch. But now tha tit's out, things should calm down.
I'm afraid not. It's not likely to happen any time soon. In Windows XP, the bundled visual styles (.msstyles) actually had a documented skin format. But in Windows Vista, the .msstyles are basically a glorified bitmap resource that is a huge pain to disect. And while I am biased, I think it is fair to say that msstyles on Vista are hopelessly crippled. On XP, you could at least make a pretty good skin. I am not sure it's possible to make anything that isn't
That doesn't make sense. IconPackager doesn't stay in memory, it literally replaces the icons just as one changes a wallpaper. If they're all getting changed back, you should take a look at what is actually causing it to get changed back.
Your second secreenshot is too small for me to make out. What specifically are you looking to do?
By chance have you changed the system wide font settings? I.e. the old "use large fonts" option in display properties?
I'll ask about this. It's always possible some obscure regression occurred. Stay tuned.
The problem with Windows XP 64-bit is that less than .21% of our user base has 64-bit Windows XP. Sheesh, I'm starting to regret building a dualcore, 64 bit quad sli gaming rig! I'm in the same boat. I'm running 32-bit XP on that machine. We'll use this thread as a gauge of interest. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/sd/SDC
I think that it's in the "staged" status (which means it's being internally QA'd) which means it's about to be released. I know it's been developed though.
That is definitely odd. Let me ask you a couple of questions: 1) What OS is this on? Vista or XP? 2) Could you try running Classic (the new yellow skin taht comes with WindowBlinds). Does it still do it? 3) If yes, then could you hold down the ctrl key when you load up Money. This will exclude it from being skinned but still has WindowBlinds in control of the process. Did that fix it? <a href="https://www.stardock.com/products/s
