For Demigod to be a great game it needs these things IMO: 1) Enough Demigod skills and items in o
Online connectivity requirement is the sole reason why I don't own any steam products except for Team Fortress 2. I refuse to purchase anything from Steam that requires an internet connection to use. Why you ask? I'm in the Defence Force and will not have luxuries of civilization available to me for at least half a year or more if posted overseas. How can I play all these games I paid for if I don't have a net connection? Yep, I have to go search for cracks like if I had pirated the ga
This is going to sound geeky but we have a new cool forum feature for admins where we can now re-activate right from the forum. So if someone does nee dhelp, posting is a good idea as anyone at Stardock with forum admin access can help.
thanks for the feedback! One of the things we'll be looking for in terms of feedback are suggestions on how to add more strategic depth. Even in beta 1, the engine test, we'll be interested in ideas in this area. We have our own plans but we definitely like to hear from those who are not inside our walls. :)
Any update on this?
FDR needs to come back.
Good stuff. I'll look at adding them into an upcoming update.
I generally suggest updating your video drivers just to be safe. I too have a Dimenion 3000 (mine has a ATI card) and I had to update the video drivers to get the proper performance. If you have the 3000 with the nVidia 6800 in it, you will probably want to run the game without anti-aliasing.
Hi guys! First, thank you for purchasing The Political Machine! Since release and in our internal testing we've made notes of some issues that you may run into. This post has some of them in it. #1 The game video is choppy. Solution: You probably have an older nVidia card. To solve, go to the game options and turn OFF anti-aliasing. #2 The game crashes after the first turn. Cause: Odds are you're playing on a laptop that has integrated video whi
Go to options, and turn off anti-aliasing. That will solve the problem. It's particularly bad if you try to play in a window.
"Debug Message: ERROR: (CD3D9Renderer) Failed to create a vertex buffer: size: 204800 flags: 2 usage: 0." That, unfortunately, is the scary line. It means that your video driver isn't supporting Pixel Shader 2.0 which it shoudl be. We're going to take a look at this and see what we can do.
I have video cards. We'll check this out.
I was in the same boat with my Dell laptop. You need to just update your video drivers to the new ones. Problem solved. Cheers.
I picked it up in Target this afternoon.
Hooray!
Also, does the distributed download system that you refer to cause me to upload anything to other users or is this a distribution of your servers?
It's all our own servers. We're not doing a torrent or anything like that.
So that we can avoid any potential issues, do yourself a favor and uninstall the Twilight beta before installing the final version. The final version will be released this afternoon.
Actually we want people to unisntall the betas just to be safe.
What media playes do you have installed on your system?
So soon I'll be owning everyone in this game too. :3
Not if we put special code to lag you. :)
More screenshots coming soon! We plan to have a way to sign up for the beta soon. Basically, what we do is let users pre-order the game and this automatically gives them access to the beta if they'd like to participate. We're going to keep the first beta pretty limited so we'll announce a sign up date and once a fairly low number is hit, we'll close it.
Have you tried turning down the effects settings from highest to say high or medium to see what affect that has?
I don't think siege frigates should be changed except that they should be more lethal.
1.02 was very very well balanced. Many of used to say how we were impressed with how well balanced the game was
1.02 probably felt perfectly balanced if you didn't play as the TEC. :) I'm closing this thread. If someone wants to create a discussion thread on 1.03 or 1.04 suggestiosn with a reasonable title, that's fine.
Sins forums are being DOS's. We're trying to track down the range of IPs and block them now.
We're looking into it but something or someone is currently flooding the Sins forum server which is bringing it to a crawl. This forum is also available here: https://forums.stardock.com/forum/402 if you need to get into the forums while we sort it out.
