If you add a second tab to that group and make it only one row. When that tab is selected, your other folder tab will collapse and then automatically expand when you click it. This allows you to get more icons on one page. (See below) <img src="https://cdn.stardock.us/forums/69/28/6928565/14c77e49-c90a-49e5-aaad-aed722298da6.png" alt="" width="760

After that, you should be able to resize the taskbar.
1) Something is strange here. In Reply #8, the Start Button and the System tray are on the bottom and the pinned taskbar icons are on the top of the taskbar. In all your other posts, the Start button, System tray, and pinned icons are all on the bottom. 2) Also, I don't think we have ever asked what version of Windows you're running. 3) Have you ever edited the Registry to make the taskbar large.
I tested this and for some reason the Group Row count seems to be stuck at 3 Rows (small icons) and can't be changed. The Automatic setting doesn't work either. This is definitely a bug. However, if the Folder is a Tab, the Group Row count works as expected.
This is a Windows thing. It's a timed event. The NEW notification will disappear in a couple of days.
In the Change Log from 11/13/2023 the following was posted: Added a new registry key to control the right-click menu style on Windows 11. It is called "S11_MenuMode" and it has 3 options. 0 = translucent menus, 1 = solid menus, 2 = colour tinted translucent menus The String name was incorrect in the Change Log. It should be "S11_MenuStyle" which has three Value options: 0 = translucent menus, 1 = solid menus, 2 = color tinted transluc
What's the full build number? Use winver.exe or copy from the Windows settings System>About page. Should be 22621.xxxx
It sounds like some other software is interfering with Start11. Open the Task Manager and select Processes. Scroll through the list and see if anything pops out at you that might be affecting the taskbar. Check for these: RainbowTaskbar ExplorerPatcher RoundedTB 7+ Taskbar Tweaker NiceTaskbar TaskbarX
One of the changes made to Start11v2 is that you no longer have to hold the shift key down when dragging icons on top of each other to create folders. This was probably requested somewhere along the way, but I find it troublesome. When rearranging icons I am constantly creating folders by mistake. My request is to add an option in the Config's to require the shift key to create a folder. Thanks, pelaird

That's a Windows setting. Got to Settings>Personalization>Taskbar and select "Hide."
This action used to require the Shift key to be held down in order to group icons. I'm with you, this is very troublesome as I'm having the same issue. I wish they would change this back to requiring the shift key to group, or at least and option to require the shift key. I have this same problem when moving apps aground on my iPhone.
Open Task Manager and select Services. Scroll down to Start11 and make sure the Status is "Running."
Out of curiosity, what happens if you remove the Task view and Search buttons from the taskbar?
Feature Request: Make active tabs more obvious. EDIT: Solved by colors.
I'm also using colors to distinguish my default tabs, but I'm still waiting for an option in settings to set the Default Tab when opening the Start11 menu!
You have to have the Enhanced Taskbar turned on, Then make sure you have these settings.
Do you have now or ever have Explorer Patcher installed? This has been the cause of the same issue in two other posts. Windows updates break it and it then causes issues with Start11.

Please tell us what version (use winver.exe) of Windows you are running, and what version of Start11 you are using. Also, let us know which Start menu style you are using.
The Start11 Beta 2.0.2.0 is now available on your Account>Downloads, and includes: Added registry key "S11_DelayAutoHide" which when given a value of "1" will delay autohide show/hide. Create in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Stardock\Start8\Start8.ini\Start8 This key does not exist in the update but is addressed by the update. You will have to add it. If you need help, let me know. pelaird

Resolved the issue of having too many items in a folder resulting in being unable to see all of the items. It will now scroll them instead. Should we undo the Registry tweak for this before installing, or did you use the same string name and value? Never mind , it's still needed to keep the context menu in one column.
I understand the muscle memory thing. I have a 42" monitor and it's quite a haul over to the right side of the monitor, especially since the Start button is now in the middle. If you have Microsoft PowerToys, you can use "Keyboard Manager" to remap keys, including to shortcuts, on your keyboard. I remapped one of my keys to the shortcut WinKey+M, so now it's very easy show the Desktop with out leaving the keyboard.
