No. If you have explorer patcher installed AND update, it breaks explorer patcher. If you have Start 11 installed AND you update, nothing happens to Start 11. No, nothing 'needs' to be said. GUI customizing software has always taken longer to adapt to a new OS because it integrates with that OS, whereas something simplistic [relatively] like Photoshop generally doesn't care what OS it's being used with.
