Docks exist to provide access to icon shortcuts above existing open windows. Those icons are not desktop icons....they are at desktop level by definition....and a desktop is always underneath windows...;)
If you know what the fence is then you should know what icons are contained in the fence. Create the on-top window and replicate the contents of the fence in the window.
Yes.....that's called a 'dock' ..... but a dock isn't a fence.....;)
Fix the sort alphabetically option. When a word ends and nothing comes after it, it should before the same word with a space and number after it. Example: Dishonored, Dishonored 2 Currently sorting alphabetically places Dishonored 2 first, Dishonored second
A quick note about the GPL licence. Only the original author of a work can release it under that licence...and the 'work' actually needs to be accompanied by a copy of that license...with its release/distribution. If either of those criteria is not met the license is null and void....;)
Thanks & I am aware of that but I don't think I would need permission to modify it for personal use. As for distribution I intend to try to contact them if there comes a time for that
Sounds good...;)
What tends to happen is various AV proggies add signatures...updating their database that's used for checking....and something that is a real issue can have a signature close to a safe proggy such as Fences...and both are flagged...until they eventually correct accuracy and don't get innocent ones involved. As you know, Fences is a shell enhancement which by necessity has to auto-load, etc...one of the issues that Hitman has noticed as a symptom of a nasty...;)

The desktop icons are at the level underneath any and all windows. They can never be above them. It is how Microsoft placed their order...;)

Doin' a bit of shopping...it's Saturday and 32c here...;)
The use of Fences slows boot by 0.2 of a second to load the process. However Microsoft requires 3rd party programs to load at the completion of the boot sequence so the desktop icons will show at the end of the boot... later than the normal sequence. Other than that there should be no slowdown if install was correct...;)

Alabama that a private entity that behaves like a government body and offers a public function is subject to the United States Constitution.
Not actually relevant. In 1946 there was nothing even vaguely akin to Facebook etc. Facebook does not provide a 'public function' as you are required to register with a private entity in order to use it. <
Object Desktop is a subscription-based delivery process for its included software, each/any of which is thus available to download and/or update for the duration of the subscription. Any included program downloaded/installed within that time is yours to keep/use forever, however you won't be eligible to future program releases/updates via Object Desktop if/when the subscription lapses....;)
