Tonton II You need to look at the system requirements for Object Dock. It is actually not compatible with Windows 11 [and several earlier versions]. Some users may make use of it...but understand the limitations of a program that has ceased development...;)

Not fazed at all. My best mate's father was Ukranian...and spent about 4 years in a Nazi labor camp....so there's nothing new under the sun when it comes to that part of the world...;)

However the way it works it doesn't need to update signatures etc or anything similar...it just 'watches' in the background waiting to 'intercept'...;)

Ever since Bitdefender was too slow adapting for Win 7 I have used Kaspersky....3 machine licence....since 7 was in Beta. Only 'drama' was trying to dl an old skinnable proggy from way back....KIS didn't like it and deleted it...so I dl'd it again....KIS still didn't like it and deleted it. I turned off KIS and dl'd it again...all good. Then next day I did a Win update and rebooted....and KIS deleted the file again. So I said 'fine...2 can play at this game"...

The Internet feeds that various Docks etc used for the Weather went Commercial and thus well outside of what was commercially viable for such programs. This all occurred about a decade ago, and I doubt circumstances have changed since...;)

There's 2 specific issues for compatibility....either one excludes your system. The i7 920 I was going to put 11 on ....emphasis WAS fails both....and yet the update only says "Not at this time". UEFI and TPM. A system can be entirely capable of running anything you want....mine did....Eg Resident Evil Benchmark at Monitor-default 1680 was 144.4 fps....way back in 2012. [GTX 590]. But Microsoft is suggesting it's now a dud. ......and yet it runs 1

Sounds like fun. In 'theory' you can swap out the regular Windows Shell and replace it with another, however as they say "results may vary" 20 years ago I 'mostly' left Explorer and replaced it with Litestep as, although it was often a bit 'clunky' to code with you could do some seriously odd things that Microsoft never even thought of. The warning is...when you mess with things you can get messages onscreen like "You MUST reinstall Windows". That one scared

I'm not 'over cautious' at all. I have 6 computers. 5 have 10 on them. 1 of the 5 is still fucked and refusing an image restore... so might be the first to reformat and get 11. They are simply not the primary machine. I have a quite healthy and educated understanding of privacy....eg. possibly one of the few you might meet who does NOT have email accounts accessible on his mobile phone. For many years I paid for my OS's via a Technet subscription....so was acce

Oh, please. If you think my phrase "the price" means I was ignorant of the fact it was a free upgrade? The problem of new members joining a site is a poor presumption they know more than anyone else. You don't. 'THE PRICE'. It was zero cost. You pay elsewhere. Nothing comes freely without strings attached . The TRULY ignorant think there are no strings.
