I just finished (last week) a rollout of SP2 to over 200 systems with more soon to follow. Only two problems. One was an obsure, non-correctable problem during installation of SP2. Once the system was rebooted, it installed just fine. The other one was faulty hardware causing random reboots. P.S. Kona - Glad to see you're still not letting me down j/k [Message Edited]

Virus??!! Who cares?!!? It would be a horrible waste of WC's bandwidth and disk space. Something to download to jazz your system up WHEN YOU'RE NOT THERE...I see, it makes perfect since to me. [Message Edited]

If this is the case of expired shareware, go to http://www.izsoft.dir.bg/izarc.htm IZArc is a great freeware program that supports most of the popular compression formats.

For the life of me, I can't get a link to the site PixelCargo refered to above to work. If you follow this link, you can then scroll down and view the slipstream guide. http://www.winsupersite.com/showcase/ [Message Edited]

Sorry, I was over the line with the talking out your @ss comment. My appologies... However, the rest stands. Yes, I think you're foolish if you don't update to SP2 when it's released . Obviouly, you're not foolish for not doing now. The feeling I'm getting from many of my vendors is that within a relatively short amount of time (less than a year) most stuff will require SP2. Don't want to update for one silly reason or another?... fine with me. It's your loss. [Mes

#6 by UBoB - 8/4/2004 5:47:35 AM There has been many complaints about the same problems I have been having, at the SP2 Newsgroups at MS. Hopefully, the problems will be worked out or I doubt that a lot of people will be updating to SP2 when it is finally released. All cases of problems I've seen (and heard of on those very same ng's) to dat

1) You login set things the way you want. 2) Go into the OD directory and create a directory with your username. 3) Copy all the INI files in the OD directory into your username directory. 4) Do the same for your wife's account. 5) Write a batch file that runs at login that copies the contents of the username subdirectory into the main OD directory and then launches OD. 6) Put a shortcut to this batch file into the All Users startup group. 7) Remove any shortcuts to OD in

It all depends on what Firefox theme is applied. WB will skin anything that is not skinned by the Firefox theme. WB skins my entire Firefox. I use the Qute Firefox theme and it only seems to skin the button icon images and nothing else, so WB takes care of the rest.

This whole thread reads like: "I want help, but I'm not going to try any of the things you suggest." Pathetic. W2k will run fine on a 500Mhz proc. Still running 98 today is just begging for problems...

Go into "Remote Desktop Connection". Click on the "Options" button. Load ("Open") the connection profile for your machine at work. Select the "Experience" tab then un-check "Desktop Background". Go back to the "General" tab and save your connection profile.

#18 by Skinner kona0197 - 6/24/2004 8:34:26 PM Quite the oppisite... with my high speed connection and my tough firewall I don't really care what browser I use because on such a fast connection everything is fast including IE. As far as security issues: I have nothing of value stored on my PC so I care not about that too. <TABLE cellpadding
