Last week, I called it a steaming pile of crap. After a long forum battle and a generally humbling experience, I got the answers I needed for OB2. I voted that it killed my inner child, but now I would cast my vote in the "good" column. While it is now an improvement (for me) over 1.60, I believe there is still work to be done: *cough* documentation *cough*. I don't mean skinning docs, those are fine...I mean user docks. So much has changed in the

Yes, I'm refering to the bar, not the section. I've verified ShowTitle=0 in all the OBBAR files...still no luck. The section titles and Title.Visible are already appropriately set. My only guess is something is overriding this. The ShowTitle is reset to 1 every time OB is launched. FWIW, I've uninstalled OB2, rebooted, deleted the OB directory, and re-installed. Could this be a legacy skin issue? I did find a work-around: Center-justify the Bar Title and set the font color to the
I owe you a HUGE apology. My own ignorance and frustration blinded me. In pre-2.0 versions, you just dragged the item you wanted to move without any mod keys. If this is documented you should had just said 'RTFM' . OMG! LOL! I can't believe that's all it was. Thank you very much!!! ...and again, I'm sorry for being such a grouch (to
Maybe the original poster should ask again . . .nicely. I did...way up there ^^^^. Look I mean this seriously, please just tell me if this issue will ever be dealt with or supported and I would be greatly appreciative.</t
To each his own I guess....
I thought you were gonna vote with your wallet, ask for your money back, and get the hell out of here... No, genius. I renewed about six months ago. I also use other programs in OD. I wouldn't try and get my money back for services and products that have, in fact, been rendered to my satisfaction (with the exception of OB2).
Oh, never mind.
Sorry, can't let that go... Bichur is one of the more helpful members here and looking at his reply to you I don't see any justification for your comment above. I believe an apology is in order here. For someone who's got a long history with SD you don't seem to show much maturity or patience. Sorry, neither can I, get over it!...I don't give a
Vote with your wallet. I will...thank you. 'Fluffy nice' is good....and ideally shouldn't timeout... That's fine, this place just goes WAY overboard sometimes. <TABLE cellpadding=8 width="9
I've been fluffy nice for over a year on the forums and newsgroups....that didn't get me, feline, or a few others that come to mind that had "issues" with OB2 answered. Look at my UID...I didn't come here yesterday. I know who Fuzzy and and Neil are. Obviously I get very frustrated sometimes (like this) at the VERY over-sensitive feel-good new-age sticky-sweet niceness of this place and I'm sure it shows. I'm a paying customer and have been since long before WinCustomize even existed. I'm
When somebody craps on my thread (spamming with no purpose, contribution, or usefulness) as Bichur did, I will do what I did. And BTW, that was polite...thank you.
If you are not the developer and you don't have the answer, stay out of it and zip it!
...bars that display the contents of a directory that you can re-order any way you like (not forced alpha-numeric order)? You know, like all the Pre-1.99 versions did? A good example would be the QuickLaunch folder... I've been going on about this ever since the early beta versions both on the forums and on the newsgroups. I've never ever seen a response. Please grow a set and give me a straight answer. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/sd_com/smiles/Mad.gif" border=0 ALIG
I'm sorry, I had hope but OB 2 is still a steaming pile of CRAP! You ****STILL**** can't re-order items in a folder bar (example Quick Lauch)! You could do that since before v1.5. It also seems as though you cannot choose to not disply the bar caption. What gives? I'll ask for the tenth time: Why in the hell would you remove functionali
Hell Cat: Thank you...that did the trick.
How the heck to you change the skin? I'm running beta 2 on XP SP2. Everything I've found says there's also a black skin...but I've been through every menu and help. Any help would be grealy appreciated.
You can't. I remote desktop all the time and it hasn't been a problem for me. You can always disable manually when you login. If you've got display problems, I'd guess it is the skins fault. You might also try turning OFF everything under the "Experience" tab in the remote desktop connection properties.
I think Jumanji and Ikku hit the nail on the head. They've really seemed to have dropped the ball on this one. I, for one, will let my money speak for me.
What kind of problems did you have with the betas? You couldn't define your order for items on a bar when it was displaying the contents of a folder (Quick Launch). It would only allow alphabetizing. There was also the issue that you couldn’t turn off the caption (title) of a bar. It’s like the program w
I'd like to know as well. I'm still waiting on renewing my OD membership until I see what OB 2.0 will be like (since the betas were so pathetic).
Koasati, thanks for the tip on Samurize. It's a great program...exactly what I was looking for.
You can't re-order bar items on bars that display folder content (Quick Launch). It appears that alpha-numeric order is the only possibility. That pretty much makes OB2 un-usable to me.
OMG! I was just TRYING to play around with the latest beta. You can't even re-order items in bars that display folder content (like Quick Launch)...alpha-numeric order only.
I hope that Stardock has looked at the OB newsgroups during these final stages. As of v1.99 the new Object Bar was an abomination to the original. The level of “dumbing-down” and loss of functionality from 1.6x to 1.99 is astounding. OB is my most valuable program in all of OD and as a result of the direction of the new OB, I’ve let my subscription lapse. I hope there will be a trial version of this. One genuine question to Stardock: I'm
Contrats on the DSL. Also, I suggest you buy a domain for $10/year and never ever change your email address again no matter who your ISP is.
