Hi I did as you said and yes it lets me create a shortcut on my desktop, but I lost my Windows 7 style menu. If I change it back to WIndows 7 style menu, I can no longer create a shortcut from the Windows App menu. So, your changes doesn't resolve my problem, but it does allow me to create desktop shortcuts, after which I can switch back to the WIndows 7 style menu. Thanks for your help Kind Regards Melvyn SHepherd
