Fences has always worked on this setup just fine. About a year ago something changed that started causing this issue.
I would be curious what your IT would have to contribute - what had possibly changed there.

That was an issue with the beta but was fixed in a subsequent release. Were you part of the beta (you dont have a current product under your forum account) - have you installed the most current release (and rebooted)?
If we are talking about the same setting, I cant reproduce what you are seeing: http://sd.stardock.com/Support/games/GC3/crashes/2017-12-13_17-22-47.mp4 Are you certain you are on the the most recent version (not a beta)?
I've tried repeatedly activating with my Stardock account, but it just keeps displaying "Incorrect email or password". I am able to log into my Stardock account okay, and Object Desktop appears fine. I installed the program from Object Desktop (account is current), but it reports "unable to silently install" and prompted me to click individual install and product key buttons. Have tried it twice with the same results. Now I
Fences 3.03 is the END ALL SOLUTION.
Not really as subsequent version fixes will be a problem for some / many: https://www.stardock.com/products/fences/history
You are running Fences.exe as admin - don't and it will cease.
Try this: https://forums.stardock.com/486104/multiplicity-support-faq#cleanboot
Hoping sdRohan have something that might solve the problem for us
I have a VM from someone that has the issue and it's in the hand of the lead developer. Will let you all know when I do.
I have a company machine, don't have permissions to do so, but as you see from the comment above, issue seems to persist anyway.
Not for everyone, I have had good success for the very few people that have reported this. Its almost always been that they have Windows Slideshow enabled for their desktop or have a third party app that causing a conflict. The slideshow thing should not be a problem,
Yes, 3.0.5.12 according to the About section.
I'd like you to try this, please: https://forums.stardock.com/486084/fences-support-faq#cleanboot
I have changed the sort order to None, to reset my "opened" count.
That does not 'reset' it - Fences still knows how many times any icon has been opened since Fences was installed.
One is that Fences is arbitrarily renaming the titles of some select documents that I have organized in fences, and which I access frequently.
That was resolved with 3.05 - it mainly affected MS Office files as they create temps.
Please see: ' Is there any way to enable Fences only on my "outside" two displays? ' No but you could put your Fences on only those displace and set up rules to have them go there. Rules: Also see: https://forums.stard
Hi sdRohan, unfortunately this did not work either, after purging through the bat file and reinstalling Fences 3.0 as admin the issue persists.
And you are running 3.05, not any earlier version?
I have also uninstalled Fences 3 due to this fault with the product, I will be attempting a full refund until such times as Stardock pull their finger out and fix it.
That is a shame - I would have worked with you on it... What I have seen recently (and its still a mystery why) is that if you change your desktop(s) to a solid color, it stops. I can theorize why but its just a guess atm. <p
See if changing your monitor resolution effects this in any way.
That sounds like this:
I purged system with the app of the link and after i reinstalled software. Result: i lost all my fence settings and i'm still having the black square problem
We only ever had seen this issue on Windows 7 that had Aero / DWM issues. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/976170/guided-help-troubleshoot-
Everytime we entertain the idea (we have, many times), the thought experiment ends up at 'they would be sorry for asking for it if rendered exactly as asked'. Meaning, in practice, it would not be as elegant as many think. Remember, Fences, at its core, it about making messy things look tidy / organized. That said, we are toying with another idea (mockups and all) that would be really close to this idea in function. I cant say when, or what version, but it's definitely goi

If it bears fruit (pun intended), this is the first place I will come.
It would seem you clicked a few more things than you thought. I have fixed it, however, and refunds have been posted.
Some (if not all) missing links are to a drive with an drive letter pointing to a data folder (not a physical drive)
It sounds as if this is a Folder Portal then, yes? If so, remove and recreate it to see if the files then show.
