I usually play a custom leader, but my favorite pre-fab leader is Markin. Gotta love that defensive bonus and Iron golems rock!

I'm more of an RP'r, so I like the land to look like it could be a real place.
If you can win the game under any condition, then what's the point of playing it? Seems like it's time to move onto something more challenging.
I can't wait for the map pack, I love the created maps. I love the lore, I wish that along with the maps, it had set starting places, so nations would start where they are suppose to be according to lore. Looking forward to this, as I find the random maps to be a bit too random and fail at looking like a real place. Too square and strange with big lakes in the middle, just never looks right to me.
I remember a Stardock where they would have said, "Hey, we made some maps. Here you go."
I was thinking this too. However I think there is a logical reason for charging for DLC's in FE unlike GC2. GC2 has a much bigger fan base and audience, thus they can potentially make more money from it, and can afford freebies. Also, a larger base, means more attention from the media, and more word of mouth advertising that
I prefer random maps. I'm not really interested in pre-fab ones. I would like to see a DLC with a monster, spell, or building pack.
I use my older troops as cannon fodder. I just send them after monster after monster until they die. I get some gildar in the process.
Not for all games. I was given Empire: Total War as a Christmas gift, and you can neither install nor play it without a permanent online connection.
I wasn't aware of that. I thought online mode was only required for multiplayer. My son has ETW, I'll check that out.
I'm in mid-game. finally got access to two iron mines and upgraded to smelter. I have iron ore coming out of my ears and have already built 3 iron golems. It's just a matter of time before that a-hole and his juggernaughts are irrelevant....
Assuming the OP is real... It's a virtual character. It's not you. And besides ,5000 years ago, computer games hadn't been invented, so there are no specific rules about being non-kosher in a virtual world.
OK, thanks! If SD reads this thread. I suggest having buldings with pre-reqs show up in the que as a greyed out option. When someone passes their mouse pointer over the greyed out option, a pop up will indicate the pre-requisit.
I started a new game and came to a pooint where my city was no longer growing, so I researched enetertainment that should allow a brewery to be built. However, it was not available in the que to build. I don't believe brewery has a pre-requisit, so I should have been able to select and build it... On another issue. Even after I build a food production "building" like a garden, my growth number doesn't update unless I save, close, and reload the game. I shouldn't ha

And in FE, it seems like fighters have a significant early and mid game advatage.
I usually don't pay close attention to the damge each weapon delivers, but in one game I made a custom unit with the strongest bow available (listed as having a damage of 12). In combat, the archer armed with that bow was causing only 1-3 point of damage per shot. Is the difference between listed damage (12) vs. actual damage (1-3), the result of adjustments for the opponents abilities, resistence, etc...or is it like an AD&D dice roll, where the weapon can cause anywhere from

Really not too bad, they just don't know how to employ them to best effect. There are many tactics to overcome them. IMO, they do need a slight nerf, but I really think the AI needs some help on using some of the special units. Although to be fair, it's still WAAAAY better than Golems or
I've personally found magic to be underpowered in this game. I've tossed fireballs at monsters and heros with little effect. i don't see how they could be over powering. Burning hands seems to do more damage for some reaswon. Nonetheless, I have no problem wining most melee only battles until mid game when the AI starts getting expontially more powerful.
I agree. Juggernaughts are defintely overpowered.
I experienced something similar. I used quake against an opponent which is supposed to stun them for 2 turns, but as soon as I went into tactical, the spell effect didn't function.

The thing I don't like about digital distribution in general is that you never actually own the game. And if the host goes out of business, or decided to repurpose the server that supports the game, you are out of luck.
Thanks, that's good to know. Unless I specialize in influence in the manner in which you described, it's a useless option...

Having even one point of Influence is enough for the standard designs to appear, and you would still need it to train your custom ones.
I guess I'm doing something wrong. I've seen units like bards appear on the build que, but they were "greyed out" because I didn
Quoting Borg999, reply 7 In one of my games, I researched the tech for getting henchmen, but I wasn't able to get any. How do you get them? Are they attracted to your city from your city influence/prestige, or do you have to go out and find them like a hero? They need Influence to train, and if you don't have any, the standard designs won't show up.
<

Maybe you could try this one, if Beginner and Easy are too hard for you at the moment.
I didn't see novice as a difficulty choice. I don't even see "beginner" I'll look again.
