+2 is just +2. So 77 would become 79.
Thanks! I don't think I'm going to waste my time pursuing spell mastery adjustments/bonuses, if all you get is +1 here or +2 there. Doesn't seem worth it.
Spell Mastery is what decides if a spell is resisted or not. When you cast a spell on an enemy that can be resisted, the game takes your Spell Mastery and deducts the target's Spell Resist. The number you get is the chance that your spell will not be resisted. 75 Spell Mastery vs 20 Spell Resist = 55% chance that your spell will not be resisted if it can be
Thanks, that makes sense. but does +2 lite
Sometimes I see bonuses/adjustment available for spell mastery (e.g. +2 spell mastery) What exactly does that +2 do for you? Does it increase the damage your spells? The range or duration? Does it reduce the target's resistance? Just guessing. Can someone please enlighten this acolyte? Thanks!
In my current game, I'm going for the spell of making, so i researched the tech, and then didn't find out until they appeared in my que, that I have to also contruct a few towers before hand. I looked in the Hiergamenon under spell of making, and it only had a general desription, with no other releavant info. I ran into a similar problem with ogre lairs. I had no idea I needed a certain level of influence. Thanks to Tuidjy's newbie guild, I was able to
So, all of you who post here to lament how easy the game is, or to brag how great your exploits are... A simple question. Do you play iron man or not? (that is do you periodically save before a battle, or do you never do that?) Just asing....
Gonna add more. This is a strategy game. That means, like chess, you need to be thinking many moves ahead. Plans. What are your plans for war, diplomacy, what are your research goals. If I am Altar, I may plan to rush Henchman, or if I am Yithril, I may plan to go straight to Juggs. You have to plan for war. Even if you don't want to fight a war, your neighbors may not feel
I've played several games so far, and I keep on experiencing deja-vu. Then it hit me. It's the stack of doom. In almost every game, an AI player sends wave after wave of stacks of doom at my cities until they fall. Talk about one dimentional/sigle minded gameplay. Let's stop pretending. There is only one path to victory - war/miliatary. All other victory conditions are highly dependant on a strong miliatary (e.g. diplomacy - how much the other fac
When I play a kingdom and encounter an unrecruited empire champion, if I can manage it, I kill them. The same goes if I'm empire, and they're kingdom. I want to deny an extra champion to my enemies, and at the same time raise my own units' experience. How exactly is it cheating for the AI to do the same thing?
I feel that every weapon and armour type should have more to show for in the tech tree, I would love to see early light plate for everyone, so there is strategic choice to construct plate-armoured warriors, or chainmail armoured warriors, the same with weapons, Why do I only start with a club, and then unlock spears.
Yes to this! Especialy chainmail, as it seems like the natural progression bet
I agree with the above posters. Please do not implement multtiplayer for FE.
An update to the descriptive statistics The mean and media increased slightly. The mode stayed the same, but the standard deviation noticeable increased by almost 3 points. Sample size: 66 mean age 34.41 median age 34.00 mode 32.00 standard deviation 10.47
Thanks guys!
The first time it happened, I approached the hero, but he wanted more gildar than I had, so I went back and sold a few things and saved for a couple of turns. as I was approaching him again, the AI recruited him, one turn before I got to him. The second time, I saw the hereo up ahead and redirected my resesrch to be able to recruit him. When I completed the research, I went toward him, and just one turn from reaching the hero, one of the AI's attacked and killed him.
I honestly haven't noticed a difference. (I access FE via Steam)

And Empires would hesitate to attack her as well, because of the alliances. If you can bribe someone into attacking her, that might start a chain reaction. Sorry, but it's trial by fire around here. I'm afraid you're on your own. [e digicons][/e]
If the AI is making those kind of value judgments, well, that's pretty amazing...
So, in my current game, everyone has a power rating of 150-250 with the exception of the archer lady whose power rating is about 30. Yet none of the other AI's are attacking her. They may have earlier in the game, but for quite a while, they've left her alone instead of finishing her off.

A number of years ago, the question was asked on the GC2 forum. To my surprise, the average age was somewhere in the early to mid thirties. I was expecting a younger crowd. I wonder if that holds true for FE. Are you a GC2 crossover, or new to SD games? Do you/did you ever play AD&D? No poll option, so I'll start. I'm 45, and a GC2 crossover. Played AD&D in the early to mid 80's. I'm known as GeezerGamer at the Civ forums. :)
Thank you!!
OK, if the Tear of Cyndrum only heals you up to your original HP, then that explains it. From the description, I thought it increased your max HP by 3 for each kill.
There is also a little black charm that's supposed to add 3 HP to the user for each kill, and it doesn't work either.
