Fuzzy, So, are you saying that WindowBlinds will NOT run on Vista RC2? Admittedly, I'm still running RC1, although I will install RC2 sometime next week. But I haven't even tried to install any Stardock products on Vista since I assumed there would be the expected incompatibility issue.
Hapkido
What exactly is a "Windows Vista toolbar"?
Your question is irrelevant because: 1) You have not upgraded your O/S to a legitimate one. Vista RC1 is a beta release. 2) You are assuming that Stardock is going to have to release a new and separate version of WindowBlinds for Vista. It is possible that a simple update, via SDC will provide the necessary changes, which anyone with a valid license would be able to get free of charge. 3) You made the choice, evidently, to install Vista RC1 as an upgrade over XP rather than doin
Thanks for the link to the updated drivers. I'm curious about your "not great mind you, but it will work) statement. Can you elucidate on that just a bit, hehe. Hmm, I just checked the Asus website for the latest driver for this particular card here: Driver version 81.89 and it is obviously different from the version you linked to. Are you SURE that the one's you recommended are compatible?
Bicher cant he just copy and paste the the EXTRACTED wb folders to the WB theme folder on his hard drive ? That's what I've always done; copy all my skin folders from their backup location to "C:\Program Files\Stardock\Object Desktop\WindowBlinds", assuming that one installs WindowBlinds to
Nope.... neither of those worked. I tried applying a non per-pixel skin and the problem didn't happen, but as soon as I re-applied the per-pixel skin, the problem returned. Addendum: What did work was logging off and logging on again.
I realize this problem has been discussed before but I can't seem to find it using Search. This hasn't happened in quite a long time now, but just tonight my cursor is being displayed underneath the system buttons (Min, Max,Close). Someone mentioned a quick fix for this and that's what I'm wanting to know. This only seems to happen with per-pixel skins.
Po', It isn't for my machine but for a client's. The card in question is an Asus V9520-X/TD GeForce FX 5200 128MB AGP 8X.
Sorry to drag this from another thread, but I thought it might not have been seen otherwise. QUESTION: Is there a way to determine whether or not a Video Card supports per-pixel rendering without having to install WB 5.01?
Can someone tell me if Office Applications, e.g,. Word, can be forced to work with Enahanced File Dialog? I tried adding "WinWord.exe" to the "Forced" section but it didn't work. Is there some trick to this or are Office applications incompatible?
Is there a way to determine whether or not a Video Card supports per-pixel rendering without having to install WB 5.01?
My question applies to all the Object Desktop applications. I am building a new machine and would like to expedite the re-installation of all my Object Desktop application "skins/themes". I plan on downloading a fresh version of Stardock Central then using it to download/install my selected applications. AFTER these applications are installed can I simply copy over the relevant "skins and themes" folders I have in backup for each application without having to install each individual one for each
You should take the good advice given to you already and update WindowBlinds, at least, to the latest "Beta" version. As Bichur in reply #5 mentioned, put a check in both the "Show pre-release versions" and "Auto archive" boxes. You will then get the latest updated version of the program(s) AND have the ability to simply and quickly revert/restore to any of the previous versions/builds you had installed before. Although they are technically called "Beta" versions, they are actually updated "fix"
Where would you get Windwos XP Pro? At a Warez site? Funny, but not overly friendly.
1) Windows XP Pro is an Operating System (e.g., Win 95, 98, ME, NT, etc.) 2) WindowBlinds 5 is a program that changes how Windows XP looks when using it.
Each WB border is a window separate from the client area. Aaargh. If I have understood your lament above, what you are experiencing is when trying to capture a window when using a "per-pixel" WB skin. I have one screen capture utility I use that even when using "Region" with a per-pixel skin, the titlebar is excluded. SnagIt 8, however, does capture t
If the file you downloaded had a ".zip" extension sometimes , although not often, the author put the ".wba" file inside of the .zip file. Generally this happens when there are other files included in the download, e.g., a winamp skin, styler skin, wallpaper, etc. So, IF it is a .zip file, open it and see if the .wba file is inside. You can then simply extract the .wba file and it will then be recognized by WindowBlinds "Add skin", or you can double-click the file to install it.
In the latest update for WindowBlinds tonight, the History information says: Updated wallpaper feature to copy jpg out of skin directories to the .\WindowBlinds\Wallpaper dir for use with the wallpaper changing features. Guess I'm having a "Senior Moment" because I don't understand what this added element does? And, is there something that I should be seeing in the Wallpaper section of the WB configuration window? I did click on the "Rebuild List" as the History als
crowdshocka, Okay..... I've seen that skin on Deviantart and the screenshot shows the Styler Toolbar being used. So, what is it you apparently cannot do but want to do, re: "how to arrange my Network, Storage, DVD-RW Drive file like this"? I've never heard of the terms you are using. And do you have Styler Toolbar installed along with that skin's Styler Toolbar skin?
I think the problem is 1) Trial version being used and 2) the downloaded skin uses per-pixel rendering. The Trial Version won't display per-pixel skins correctly other than the ones that come with the program itself.
The screenshot (assumed) in your first post isn't being displayed so I cannot see what you are referring to. Do you have a link to that image? Thus, I have no idea what the "network, storage section" is. Sorry.
Styler Toolbar is now freeware. Download the latest version here: Styler Toolbar 1.4.01 IF after installing Styler Toolbar you find it isn't working, and/or you get a prompt saying that unrar.dll isn't found/installed, you can get it here: unrar.dll Copy the unrar.dll file to "C:\Program Files\Styler\Unrar". You may have
Ya know.... you have no idea how much I appreciate that little tidbit of information, re: Options, etc. when importing a MSStyle. It resolved many problems I was having and now, finally after so many months and in an instant fixed my "Top Image" magic pink problem. I'm still not sure how the "copy" of BMPs is done, e.g., if you simply copy/paste and thus overwrite the images in the skin folder? or perhaps you "Import" them in SKS? Yeh, sounds like a dumb question, but for me it is a leg
Well, I have read others who have said essentially what you wrote, re: porting an original VS to UIS2 and then copying all the BMP's to the new UIS2, etc... However, I have never been able to figure out how to do that nor what is actually entailed in the copying over of the BMP images. What I have gotten is mainly generic terms and sparse instructions not amounting to much more than what you wrote. Either people don't care to share the details of such a procedure or they lack communication skill
