This issue has been previously discussed on the wincustomize forums and reported to Stardock by Mike Bryant, but it's been awhile and no resolution has come. So, I thought I would bring it up again here in the hopes that someone might have a fix for the problem. In Mike's excellent update of Dangeruss' WB skin TorsionBar found here: Link , the Toolb

Okay.... I realize what the problem is.... apparently the author has updated this package and added in the "My Documents" folder icon but with a different one than is offered in the single download he linked to. I loaded the package and didn't see any yellow triangle for the "My Documents" icon, e.g., in the "Desktop" icons section. But I didn't see ANY icon for "My Documents" in the "Folders" section. So, I assumed that it needed to be added. Thus came my confusion, especi
In the new "OHMYNitroLite.ip" set, the author accidentally left out the "My Documents" icon. He provided a link to download this individual icon, but I don't know how to add it to the set. Could someone provide step-by-step instructions for adding an icon to an existing IP set? THANKS!
Your observation is the same as mine, re: PuTTY. The configuration window skins fine with a non per-pixel skin. But with a WB 5 compliant per-pixel skin, the window isn't fully skinned but immediately changes and is fully skinned when it is moved; even slightly. Admittedly, this doesn't bother me at all since I only use the configuration window to load a saved session and make the connection.
However, after you capture the window using the "Capture Region" profile, there shouldn't be much of anything "extra". And, the image captured can easily be edited in SnagIt. I've done it this way every since WB 5. was released and never had a problem capturing a standard window. Can you give an example of a capture you've done which has lots of these "extra surrounding graphics" included? That might help.
I noticed that the last two WB beta updates when archived by SDC are only 1K zip files which when opened contain nothing??? I am one who likes to burn the updates to CD-RW for backup and these two files do raise some questions as their usefulness should I need to do a "restore". What's the deal with these 1K .zip files?
This small irritant was mentioned in passing by someone else in another thread and I thought I would bring it up for further possible discussion and to the notice of Stardock. First, this occurred with 4.6 and now with 5.0. More often than not, when I click on the "Start" button to open the Start Menu, the Start Menu "flickers" briefly before being displayed. The phenomena is universal, i.e., it is not skin specific although it doesn't happen 100% of the time, but perhaps 80% of the time.
Man, I hate these double-posts/replies.
bagginz asks: Hi there, do you mean when you click on a folder in the left hand treeview? Does this happen for all icl files you click on or just a specific one? Yes, when I click on a folder and then on the ".icl" file, IconPackage Explorer immediately closes. I tried this with half-dozen different ones a
When I try to view any ".icl" file in IconPackager Explorer, as soon as I click on the file in the Windows Explorer tree, the program closes. There are no error messages.... nada; it just closes. Has this problem been reported before? Any suggestions on how to proceed to fix this issue? Version: 3.00i[b].002
This question refers to the "My Toolbars" section in both WB 4.x and 5.0. When I go through the list of Toolbar icon sets, there are quite a number that are named: Default Shell Toolbar Glyphs By: Microsoft Design Team 1) All of them came with a WB skin so why isn't the name of the skin displayed like many of the others that appear in that section? 2) How can I find out what skin these sets belong to, short of loading every skin I h
This is different from "Smart Paint". Hyperpaint uses the extra video RAM on your video card to "buffer" your windows which makes moving them on screen possible without any repainting. Thanks for replying. But could you explain what you mean by "buffering"? Would I be correct in assuming that this means the card's RAM is used first rather than using the system RAM? And I don't know what you mean in the bolded statement, re: "moving them"?? Moving what?</P
I installed a new ATI Rad. 9550 256 card and now I see that "HyperPaint" can be enabled in the WB Configuration Window in "Basic Settings/Performance". What exactly is "HyperPaint"? and is there any advantage in enabling this?
Somewhere in one of the posts here I think I remember this issue mentioned already but I thought I would give the matter its own thread. Using the latest WB 5.0 Beta, I am seeing "ghost" Titlebars, "magic pink" displayed on them and solid black Menubars as well. This occurs on both WB 5 specific skins as well as all my other WB 4+ skins. Sometimes clicking on the Titlebar will effect its display but not fix it. <IMG src="http://www.the-highway.com/temp/titl
I usually add some simple "click" sounds to the System buttons on the Titlebar to the skins I use most without any problem whatsoever. But tonight I tried adding those same sounds to the "Aura" skin, but they don't work. Anyone else seeing this problem with this skin or any of the other new per pixel WB 5.0 skins? Anyone have a suggested fix to get them to work?
I updated through Stardock Central not realizing that it was version 5, hahaha... the only thing that caught my attention was the failure to archive my previous version. So, until I came here to check out what was new on the forums, I didn't even realize there was no SystemTray icon, etc., etc......... And the 3 new skins display perfectly as best as I can tell. Anyway.. the good news is that this version not only installed fine but it is working great on my old AMD Athlon 1.8 box wit
I have a couple of questions about Toolbar icons: 1) Is there an easy way to install a set of Toolbar icons in a WB skin that doesn't have any other than copying the 14 +/- separate image files to the skin's folder and then choosing each one in SkinStudio? I noticed when I download these type of files, they have a ".wba" extension by default. 2) What is the best way to re-colour a set of Toolbar icons? e.g., what program would you
have you tried doing manual change with iconpackager? Yep, basically the same thing.. it shows the right icon for the package that is loaded, but it won't apply. I can choose an alternate icon, click "Apply", which will change and then go back to the correct icon and click "Apply" and it won't change. That's the same thing that happens when trying to
I don't know what causes this, but it is driving me nuts! Every so often, when changing icon packages the "My Network Places" icon won't change. If I restore the Windows default icon set, it reverts to a previous icon from a set (Pixelorama), which I haven't used in a couple of months. Repair Icons doesn't work. Rebooting doesn't work.. nothing seems to work. If I try to change it back to the XP default using the shortcut's "Properties" it shows that t
In case the link doesn't work for you; it didn't for me, you can also get a copy of that file here: Link You can copy this File to the GT3 Folder or to the "Windows\system32\" Folder (It's working in both).
If you had WB 4.5 public installed, you need to uninstall that first before installing the "enhanced" version. Make sure you "Unload WindowBlinds" first so that the default Windows skin (Luna/Classic) is loaded. Copy all your WB skins to another folder before uninstalling 4.5 and then after installing 4.6 enhanced, move them back. That should resolve your problem.
It is pretty obvious how one can remove archived versions of IconPackager and SkinStudio, but not so obvious in regard to archived versions of WB. Archived IP versions take up a lot of HDD space and so I generally only keep the last good version and remove all previous ones. I'm assuming that archived versions of WB also require a good amount of space and thus I want to delete all but the last "known good working" version too. How can this be done? and
yrag, Uninstalled IP via SDC, rebooted and reinstalled via SDC (3.00c[b].002). Problem still exists. None of the enhanced features work, e.g., Icon Explorer, manually changing icons, etc. The Validation window pops up but when I run it, validation fails. I've looked at all the "ip.log" files for each backup version and every one of them says: "ERROR" for Serial No.?? Perhaps this is normal? I've not had a problem until now. In IP "Help/About" it clearly says my copy is "Registered"??
Just updated through Stardock Central to 3.00c[b].002 hoping it would resolve the problem of no file icons being changed nor being able to change them manually through the file's Properties/Icon/Change Icon utility. After the update was installed, I rebooted when prompted and was greeted by a BSOD. Rebooted again and no problems getting back to Windows (XP SP-2). So, I loaded another icon package and still the file icons remained the same (various icon
If I may impose upon your, or anyone else's wisdom, once again, I noticed I am also have a similar problem with the "My Network Places" icon on the Desktop. In this case, if I revert to the default Windows XP icons, that particular icon changes to an IP package icon rather than the XP default icon. It will change, although with some hesitation and only after clicking "refresh" on the Desktop to the current icon of the IP package I'm using. Anyone have a "fix" to resolve this one? Everyt
