Cavan1, Thanks..... that worked perfectly. I first deleted the two icons (shortcuts) I had. Also, I didn't have a the IE icon (shortcut) on my Desktop, so I had to go into the Display Properties/Desktop/Customize Desktop section and put a check to have it displayed. Then I dragged a copy of that Desktop shortcut (icon) to the Quick Launch Bar and my Start Menu and finally returned to the Display Properties, etc... and unchecked Internet Explor

The IE icon on neither the Quick Launch Toolbar or Start Menu change when I change icon packages. I can manually change them using their respective "Properties" however. Or, if I open IP and go to "Icons and Cursors" and click on the "Quick Launch" tab, it shows the current icon and I can change it to the actual icon for the package being used. However, if I click on the "Start menu" tab, the icon for IE of the current package already shows even though
IP (3.00.089) opens okay on my system (XP SP-2) but I do get an error when I try and delete an installed icon package. The error basically says that it cannot delete the package and to try and reinstall it again. So, for now, I simply delete the folder of the set I want to delete through Windows Explorer.

I just got around to giving this a try and immediately ran into an ignorance blockage. I clicked on "View" and then "Package Builder" but nothing happened, i.e., nothing that I can see that would allow me to view a set of
If you are running Win XP, then Tclock is only partially compatible. The author never upgraded the program to work 100% with XP and there is no indication that he ever will. That's just the way it is.
Is there a way to substitute a set of Toolbar icons for individual skins in WindowBlinds? Currently, I have the option to use a designated set of icons for skins that don't have any included. However, what I'm wanting to know is if there is a way to change the Toolbar icons for an individual skin without having that change effect all other skins? THANKS!
Koasati, Okay, I'm back with my promised report on how I made out. With your additional information, I was able to successfully add sounds to a number of existing skins which didn't have them by design. However, I was not able to add sounds to a few which had multiple items listed in the left tree in that section, e.g., some had 3 Close buttons, listed. I tried adding the .wav file for each of them but without success. It's not a big deal, but

Thanks guys! Yes I was using .wav files. I simply copied over existing wave files from another skin and tested them and they all worked. So, I've added your additional instructions to my little "Add Sounds in WB" document and will give it a shot later on and let you know how I made out. Again.. thanks for taking the time to help out this old newbie. </font
If the skin doesn't have a uis. file, then rename the downloaded file back to a ".zip" extension. Open the file and double-click on the included ".wba" file and this will install the skin for you. I've run across several of these types too and the above recommendation works fine.
Koasati instructed: To add sounds to a WB skin, First copy the sound file to the skin folder, then open the skin in SkinStudio. Select a titlebar button by clicking it. In the tree view on the right side look for Actions... expand that. Look for Button Sound- Press, and Button Sound- Release. Select one of those. In the Value dropdown list
I would like to add sounds to some existing WB skins when you click on the Minimize, Restore/Maximize and Close buttons. I'd like to use some existing sounds from another skin. Can someone explain how this can be done in layman's terms? Also, I'm wondering what these ".tga" files are. By default on my system, they are being associated with "OmniPage Pro", which obviously isn't correct. Are these files configurable? If so, should I change the a
I'm having a problem getting Theme Manager (2004 or 2005) to apply or not apply Desktop Wallpapers when I change suites. If the skin in the suite has its own wallpaper, it always overrides the one included when I created with suite using "File/Save Desktop". The reverse is also true. If the suite comes with its own wallpaper image, unchecking to apply the wallpaper is ignored and it is applied anyway. Is this a known "bug" or is there some set
mongo51983, I'm curious what the name of that skin is and where you downloaded it from. Also, what is the icon package you are using?
That's it? hahaha Great.. I'll definitely give it a try. THANKS
In my travels around the Internet I have come across several "packs" of icons; some in ".ico" format and some in ".png" format and occasionally some in ".jpg" format. These packs have no ".ip, .theme, or .incl" files included and thus they cannot be installed as a package with IconPackager. What I am wanting to know is how can I create a package with these icons that is IconPackager friendly? I am hoping for a little more in an answer than, "Use xxxx p
Just to add to your complaint re: Desktop 3 .... I am experiencing the exact same thing. On startup, most/all of my SystemTray icons are not displayed. But if I logoff and then logon again, everything is fine. I also see that this has gone unanswered for 3 weeks now. Hopefully someone will address the problem soon.
Is the "timeout=xx" parameter normally found in the "boot.ini" file configurable when using Bootskins? Before switching over to Bootskins, I could vary the bootup time (in seconds) and normally had it set to 5. However, there is a much longer delay now using Bootskins and I would like to reduce that time if possible. Evidently, Bootskins circumvents the boot.ini on bootup because no matter what number is put in the "timeout" parameter, it remains the s
I have the very same problem. The proprietary usericon for the skin I am using used to be displayed, if it had one. I think there was one skin that had a horrid usericon, hehe, so I disabled that feature in the User Overrides section. Then just today I wanted to have the usericon for the "Antares" skin displayed and enabled that option again. But the default usericon only displays. I've reapplied the skin, logged off/on, and rebooted but no go. And yes
Corky_O & Koasati, Thanks ... I reset the icon size to 32 and the improvement was remarkable. One can only guess why the size was set to 39. Hopefully, this will stick from now on.
Let me see if I can explain this in a cogent fashion. In "Display Properties/Appearance/Effects/Advanced/other advanced controls" and the item "Icons", the size displayed on my system is "39". Is this Window XP's default setting? The reason I am asking is most all of the Desktop icons, regardless of which icon set I use, appear a bit ragged around the edges, even with "Clear Type" enabled. If I increase the size from 39 to 48, for example, the
Sorry... I misspelled the name of the skin. It is "Synthek" which you can find here: http://danillooc.wincustomize.com/viewskin.aspx?SID=2950&skinid=4742&libid=1&UID=1283096. Thanks for the suggestion to move my Wallpapers images to C:\WINDOWS\Web\Wallpaper. But I would rather have them more accessible, such as C:\Wallpaper, which is where I have them now. It is much easier for me to find, test and change wallpapers in that location and likewise using the "Browse" in Display Properties.
Cavan1, Yes, what you wrote is true. And I owe an apology to aufisch in that I was using the terms which are common when using StyleXP. What WindowBlinds calls "skins", StyleXP calls "Visual Styles". What WindowBlinds calls, "Suites", StyleXP calls, "Themes". But in the Theme Manager menu/tree on the left, WindowBlinds calls "skins" "Visual Styles", which makes for some confusion. And even more confusing is that Theme Manager calls "msstyles" (Visual Styles) files "MS Themes".<
1) I am having a problem with one particular skin being applied in a suite I made. The name of the skin is "Synthec". When I switch to this suite, the wallpaper and icons are changed, but not the actual skin. The skin in current use remains. This is the only suite I've made that does this. Any help as to how to correct this problem? 2) Wallpaper choices are limited to those files in "C:\Windows\Wallpaper" in Theme Manager. Is there a way to br
Thanks, but playing around in Theme Manager I found out with SkinStudio installed, these Visual Styles, which as I said are NOT WindowBlins skins but the visual styles I installed when using StyleXP, when applied can then be used with "File/Save Desktop" to make a new theme. They may not be technically converted to .wba files, but they then can be applied using Theme Manager or from the WindowBlinds GUI.
