Yes running UAC,I prefer to run as a general user and UAC is less intrusive with SP1. I found the solution. As well as having to give read and execute permissions for the user group to the stardock folders under program files I had to give users full access to the stardock folders under c:\users\public\public documents\stardock This is where the skins, cursors etc are kept. Looks like this could be a simple fix for the installation program to apply.

Thanks for all the info on extracting the icons from a dll file, the icon developer batch processing was a very quick way to do it :)

Hi Using ObjectDock Plus v 1.90.026 on Windows Vista 32 bit.I have created a dock entry to switch user and wish to assign it an icon from C:\Windows\System32\imageres.dll Alas, when I try to change the properties of the dock entry I can not find out how to assign an icon in imagers.dll Can this be done?
It would cool if CursorFX linked into SD virtual desktops. I.e. You could have define a desktop with all the skinning and fancy cursors for general work and have a separate desktop with default Windows cursor and no skinning for work on serious apps like photoshop.

Hi Right mouse click on an empty part of the task bar, select toolbars and uncheck "Stardock Virtual Desktops". Just check this option to turn Virtual Desktops back on.
Hi Using Virtual Desktop 2.00.008 on Windows XP Pro SP2. If I start Photoshop CS2 on a different desktop it dispalys the main window and palettes but the palettes also get displayed back on the first desktop. If I close the palettes on the first desktop it also closes them on the virtual desktop with the main window. I have tried locking photoshop to a specific virtual desktop but this did not help. Is there a way to fix this? Thanks

Hi I have purchased some Master skin WindowBlinds. I have noticed that one of them has been updated since I originally purchased. This raises two queries: 1) how can I check which version of a WindowBlind is installed? 2) To update a Master Skin do I just re-download from the original link to get the new version? Many thanks

Hi I am using WindowBlinds 6.00.005 and Theme Manager 2.50c.046 on Windows XP Pro SP2. I have a query on using the WindowBlind in a Theme from within WindowBlinds. WindowBlinds provides lots of configuration options but if I load a blind in a Premium Suite Theme e.g. RIP or Quest via Theme Manager the blind is not visible within WindowBlinds, only in Theme Manager and I can see how to access the blind configuration. Is it possible to use a Blind in a Theme suite within WindowBl
Hi The Blind is Ares by Mike Bryant. The problem with the ObjectBar not being the same color as the Window Blind makes it unnatural and uncomfortable to use. I tried an Object Bar created on the left and the sub-folders work ok, no overlapping sub-folders. It looks like an issue when an Object Bar is docked to the top or on the right.
Hi Re query 1) I have tried using the different Blind components. But ObjectBar does not produce a very good match. In the screen shot below it is no so obvious but on screen the Object bar is a gray color compared to the black of the Blind task bar. Using the latest version 2.10a.014 1) The bar does not properly take the color from the WindowBlind. E.g. I am using Ares by Mike Bryant in default color. Hi I had installed sound packager, started it and pressed the symbol against the football package name to preview the sounds. When I checked there were no files at all in the directory mentioned in the log file.

Well that is a bit weird. I used SDC to create an Archive of WindowBlinds, then I thought I would try an install one more time before deinstalling and this time it worked. Quiet what creating an Archive did to help the install I do not know but at least I am up to date now without a major issue. Thanks for all the replies and help.

Hi I have Stardock Central version 2.40.437 and trying to install WindowBlinds 5.50.21 onto Windows XP Pro SP2. The install fails as the download gets stuck in a loop downloading the same few files over and over. The files flash past quick but one is called BLANK.bmp, another begins with Arrow.. and another begins with Trackbar... there are 4-5 other files as well. Hi SDC is showing version 2.38.434 build 139. Looking at my earlier post I guess I made a typo with the 2.36. Appologies for any confusion. I checked the item to check for beta releases of SDC and it prompted to install a beta release which I declined so it looks to be all working. I guess the focus is on stuff for Vista at the moment.
