Hi Under SDC > tools > applications I have all checked except "Display long date format" and "Show pre-release (alpha-beta) versions. I tried re-downloading SDC and re-installing / registering my products and still showing no updates. SDC is at version 2.36.434 build 139. Other program versions are: Object desktop Theme Manager 2.30a.042 Window Blinds 5: 5.10.009 Objectbar 2.00.009 Icon packager 3.11.106 Desktop X 3.20.044 Windows FX

Hi I have not had any updates to Object desktop components or Objectdock plus since 18th October. As updates to WindowBlinds etc etc used to be regular I wondered if either updates had stopped due to work on Vista releases or my Stardock central had stopped working. If the latter how do I get updates working again, my subs does not expire until November. Many thanks

I use IE7 but find that the Win Cust forums and the GUI champs web site do not display correctly. I get a whole series of alert boxes with "object not found". This only happens at the two sites mentioned.

Yes there is a service associated with Windows Defender but if you set it to manual and then try and start Windows Defender it falls down in a heap. Also, does anybody else have the issue in that Windows Defender is not skinned? It looks like something from windows 3.1 on my system, very old look and feel.

Small problem with R.I.P. Skin in WindowBlinds WinCustomize Forums

I have the special R.I.P. skin for Wincust subscribers, but I have a small problem with it. Some items appear as black text on black buttons, e.g. Outlook 2003 status bar, Google in Internet Explorer 6 has the "Google Search" button black on black until you hover over it. Similarly the create button in this window as I write this is also black on black. Any ideas on how to correct this? It is a great Skin but these black areas bug me <img

If MSN 8 is skinnable then sure Win Cust should have a section for it. Maybe combine it with WMP skins as a Microsoft stuff section. Would be great to be able to skin the conversation windows to match a WindowBlind skin.

If you wish IE to be as fast as other Browsers simply increase the number of download sessions. Microsoft follows the standards by default, but you can change this easily. See support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kben-us282402 You will need to put a semicolon each side of the en-us bit as the Wincustomize website seems to want to delete the semicolons each time I submit it. I don't know if there are any other misleading readings - but I did note that Ad-aware only ever calls up IE which supposes a lack of sympathy with other browsers. Ad-Aware SE is not calling Internet explorer. This effect is due to the fact that firefox/mozilla doesnt make the required changes to the registry. You need to set html to "Open with"

Service pack 2 for XP includes a pop-up blocker for Internet Explorer. This works for me on the few pop-ups that make it past ie-spyad. Many thanks for the update Frogboy. In that case I'll have to remove the sys tray tab from my OD+ as there is no way that I know to make sure OD+ is the first item to start at boot time. And to be honest if that were possible I would what my firewall to be the very first item anyway.

Hi again I am having a problem with one specific application adding it to a tabbed dock. When I add a new short cut to Adobe Photoshop CS the icon defaults to to one in the icons provided in Object dock +, if I Dock Entry Properties and change image I can not get it to use the icon in the photoshop.exe. This only applies to Photoshop CS all the other Adobe products, illustrator etc use the icon in the exe. Any ideas ? Thanks

cool Glad the Nvidia Nview VWM problem is fixed, I wasn't able to use the beta release I had because of the 100% CPU problem. I followed the advice of GreenReaper over on the SDC chat and deleted WindowBlinds, cleaned out the WindowBlinds keys in the registry and reinstalled WindowBlinds. This cured the issue with the command window always been skinned in one skin. Alas, after several changes of skin the problem comes back and the command window gets stuck in one skin again! At least it is relatively easy to get out of this problem, deleting WB doesn't delete the skins so reinstallation is not too inv

You can have the best of both worlds and have the benefit of ActiveX on useful websites and protect yourself from installation of rogue programs from malware sites by using ie-spyad.
