Hi Sean, I looked at that thread but couldn't find any info on my question: i.e. why does a renewal cost the same as new customer getting a brand new subscription with a discount. If you really want to keep me vested in renewing my annual it should be significantly cheaper then a new customer buying a discounted one year subscription. That shows dedication to your current customers.

Thanks! Using your link I was able to find the renewal pricing unfortunately the 20% off code from the survey sent out this week is not working.
I was trying to renew my subscription and the site is showing a price of $39.99 for renewal which is the same as buying a new subscription. Is anyone else seeing this?
Looks like they finally fixed it so you can get a discount on the renewal. About time.
Here is the official reply from Stardock Support: Hi xxx, Sorry to hear you are having trouble. OD renewals cannot be discounted because they already are discounted. Cheers, Sean Drohan Stardock Support Manager
I have never seen (nor do I see a discount now) on renewal prices. For
I already did. That is how I figured out it was a bait and switch.
So turns out its classic bait and switch. I guess no renewal for me.
I've tried on three different systems w/ different OSes (MacOS, Android, and Windows) with no luck. I also just tried it. Seems to be a Stardock issue.
Hi, I am trying to renew my subscription to OD. I got the link for the survey for 25% off, took the survey, and got the code. However, when I put in the code and hit apply nothing happens (i.e. the price doesn't change and no discount is shown). Anyone successfully used the discount code?
A friend and I put together an early personal computer in 1977 or 1978 with an S100 bus (that's what we called motherboards back then), and an Intel 8080 processor for the CPU.
This isn't accurate. motherboards were not called S100 bus. the S100 bus was a standard for expansion cards . This is analogous to the IBM ISA standard, PCI, and the current PCI-E to name a few
I thought BootSkin died out because StarDock couldn't figure out a way to change the boot background on Win 7 (and that it was free/was not monetized)? I would still love to use something like this to add the final touches to a fully customized system if it exists for Win7 and later. Anybody have links to these programs? Edit: Linkage here to program list but no downloads
Still waiting for the Object Desktop renewal sale so I can renew my subscription. Haven't seen one a while.....
Curtains vs. Windowblinds
Thanks for the linkage. I read the thread but I am not sure if things are any clearer. What is clear is they are not complimentary (since you can run only one at a time). I guess I would have to play with both to see which does what I need at what time... [e digicons]:|[/e]
The reason people may refer to Windowblinds as 'the first' is that many consider 'Start me up' as the first 'real' Windows [95], and the 16bit vers were more a work-in-progress ...[e digicons];)[/e]
Maybe, my personal belief is that Stardock employees keep saying it hoping old enough people won't be around to disagree. :D BTW: No one I know considers Win95 real windows.
Yep, WB 3 did. Don't know what the previous versions ran on.
I highly doubt that WB from 2001 designed to run on WinXP and using DirectX was a 16bit app (or had a 16bit version) that also ran on Windows 3.1. I don't recall ever using any of the WBs (I started w/ 1.0) on anything but 9x and up. I would love to see some official info indicating Win3.x support.
I am not sure how the fable/myth/story of WindowBlinds being the "first program that let users customize the look and feel of the Windows GUI" ever got started. Long before WB there was Playroom Software's OSFrame (later renamed Makeover) which ran on Windows 3.x (I don't think WB EVER ran on Win 3.x). It allowed you to change buttons, borders, etc. I still use it to this day on my Win 3.x installations (yeah I have a couple of machines running it). For those interested more info can be
So no resolution on this issue? Support is just dropping it?
O.k. tried the rule using names and it does not work. The "Shredder" icon is not moved. As for the user folder, I don't want it sorted with the other folders. However, fences keeps sorting it w/ the other folders "Yes, this makes sense then because what you're seeing is a shortcut(.lnk) and not an actual directory." P.S. The user folder icon on the desktop is a shortcut but it is not a .lnk file. So not sure what you are talking about.
Yes, a link to my user folder on the desktop (actually the link placed there by windows itself.)
O.k. Thanks. I will try that. Another question I have is how are rules applied? For example the user folder is in quick links but I have a rule to move all folders to the "Folder" fence. When I apply the rules my user folder is moved into "Folders". I added a rule to move the folder back based on its name. However, applying the rules left the user folder in the folder fence. I have the rule set to run after the folder sorting rule. I would think then what should happen is: Fences starts ->
Hello, Ther eis a problem w/ Fences Pro and PGP. Specifically the PGP shredder icon. I *believe* the problem arises in that PGP generates the shredder icon on every reboot. So when I rebbot the icon is always out of the fence I placed it in. I was wondering, if there is a way to specify a single icon (not file type but a specific icon) to be moved into a specific fence? If not could we put this ona req. list? I can see it being useful for drives as well (such as USB card readers
Was that a general rant in response to any of my posts or just a general rant? General... I'd expect it would be case 1.
Jaffo, What are you basing this on. Brad himself replied that SD can't be expected to maintain every revision of every program in this thread. This leads me to believe Case 1 is not the way to go. However, if you have "insider info" or better yet written policy it would
I just want to point another thing out here: You don't have to archive your stuff after your subscription expires. It's simply that if you reformat your computer or buy a new computer you can't access newer versions of Object Desktop once your subscription expires. Really, like i said, it's always been this way and until this post I can't recall it ever being an issue.
Yes, but myself and apparently others have take

Specially all the questions regarding the DRM, and post expiration activation.
