Fences Pro and PGP

Hello,

Ther eis a problem w/ Fences Pro and PGP. Specifically the PGP shredder icon. I *believe* the problem arises in that PGP generates the shredder icon on every reboot. So when I rebbot the icon is always out of the fence I placed it in. I was wondering, if there is a way to specify a single icon  (not file type but a specific icon) to be moved into a specific fence? If not could we put this ona req. list? I can see it being useful for drives as well (such as USB card readers and/or CD-DVDs) in Win 7 since you can specify a drive not to be visible unless there is a disk/memory card in it. Thanks.

You could set up a sorting rule based on the name of the shortcut.

O.k. Thanks. I will try that. Another question I have is how are rules applied? For example the user folder is in quick links but I have a rule to move all folders to the "Folder" fence. When I apply the rules my user folder is moved into "Folders". I added a rule to move the folder back based on its name. However, applying the rules left the user folder in the folder fence. I have the rule set to run after the folder sorting rule. I would think then what should happen is: Fences starts -> all folders are moved into the "folder fence" -> the user folder is then moved back out to quicklinks. However, this is not happenig.

Are you talking about a link to your user folder on the desktop?  This would be different than a folder actually located on the desktop.

Yes, a link to my user folder on the desktop (actually the link placed there by windows itself.)

Yes, this makes sense then because what you're seeing is a shortcut(.lnk) and not an actual directory.  Your user directory actually lives in C:\Users and not on the desktop, so this would not get sorted with the other folders.

O.k. tried the rule using names and it does not work. The "Shredder" icon is not moved. As for the user folder, I don't want it sorted with the other folders. However, fences keeps sorting it w/ the other folders

P.S. The user folder icon on the desktop is a shortcut but it is not a .lnk file. So not sure what you are talking about.

So no resolution on this issue? Support is just dropping it?

Any shortcut is actually a .lnk file, Windows just suppresses showing the extension.

The "Shredder" icon is not moved.
End of quote

Is that the user folder shortcut, or another icon?

It's possible conflicting sort rules are set up.  Can you please contact support@stardock.com so we can get more in depth info?
