Perhaps I was a little harsh. However you're lucky you weren't inundated by flames from the many people that love Texas and are proud of it. It's never a good choice to denigrate a place for whatever the reason. If you had merely left off your first sentance then I never would have responded sarcastically in the first place. See how much nicer the following sounds versus starting out by bad mouthing the great state of Texas. [quote]I've been thinking of going to New Zealan

As the title says I think we need a specific category just for forum bugs. There certainly do seem to be enough of them to warrant their own category. My apologies to the web team but "if the shoe fits"... Anyway the code writing pigeon’s thing was funny the firs

Opps... I guess Wyndstar's response regenerated a new burst of interest in this topic. Currently I have a proposed rule that was pending "default approval". I hear a lot of talking but I haven't heard anyone say that they explicitly objected to the rule that I proposed. So what are we doing here? Has anyone explicitly objected to my proposal? If so then it appears we should define a few reasonable choices and simply vote on them. If not then what's

Did anyone know that pressing the next key deletes your post? Yes. I seem to do this every 10 to 20 posts or so. I've gotten into the habit of composing anything longer than a paragraph in Word so that I have a copy. A few interesting points have been brought up here. Certainly established rules and procedures are necessary even for a game based organization like the MVC, otherwise you end up making up things as you go along and that certainly doesn't in

I would rather shell out 100.00 or so now and be safe than find out the hard way. I gave a brief thought to doing a proper power supply analysis, but in the end laziness won out. Without a proper analysis everyone is simply guessing, but chasing down all the power requirements is truly a pain in the ass, particularly when the vendors themselves are so

I personally find evil to be by far the most powerful alignment I have to agree with Purge. Though the 10% morale bonus that neutral gets is pretty powerful as well. I think evil is slightly better than neutral. But both totally outweigh good. I think good gets the short end of the stick in GC2.

Moosetek, it seems that even a bunch of elite Internet savvy folks take awhile before they realize they're being put on. Oh my, |\| 0 0 |3, whatever could it mean?

I would be able to hit 50K somewhere in the near future. You'll hit 50K and then you'll hit 75K and probably you will hit 300K eventually. It's really just a matter of time and seeing what works for you. 16K for a medium military conquest will easily turn into probably 75K on a gigantic abundant all with loose clusters or scattered planets. These usua

The best bet is to hit the "find" button. If there are ships left with movement points (other than those headed to rally points or other multi-turn destinations), the view will center on that ship. "Find" does find ship/fleets with movement left but they're the ship/fleets that just happen to be closest to the last selected ship/fleet. If you're movin

It does seem that these forums are behaving better than they previously were. Things aren't yet perfect but I'm wondering if anyone else notices this. One example of things not yet being perfect is that I had to post this from forums.stardock.com instead of forums.galciv2.com because the latter was taking forever to access.

Really, playing the game that's most fun for you is the best advice. As I said, it's regrettable to abandon a character that you've put in such effort with and gotten your racial medal, but the following shows the percentage of each new score that you get "credit" for based on games submitted. 1 (100.0%) 2 (75.8%) 3 (64.4%) 4 (57.4%) 5 (52.5%) 6 (48.8%) 7 (45.9%) 8 (43.5%) 9 (41.5%) 10 (39.8%) 11 (38.3%) 12 (37.0%) 13 (35.8%)<

have only used 1 character and have played since the DL beta This is indeed true, but FC is a machine that can finish a gigantic suicidal in 30 hours. The corresponding game probably takes me closer to 200 hours. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/sd_com/smi

Being honest, I felt that your words were.. offensive. This is merely a suggestion to Stardock that may not even be accepted. Perhaps there is no need to.. provoke others.. at all. I didn't see anything that could be considered offensive in either of n0v4k4n3's posts. Believe me, if he wished to be offensive or provocative he's certainly capable.

As an advocate of pirates and as someone who feels that they really need to be integrated into this game in a better manner than they are right now, I will continue to keep the issue open I like pirates too, matey. Arrghh <TABLE cellpadding=8 width="

A simple addition of a special "starbase" drive of some sort should be suffice. Sure, any of these ideas are fine. I think we're all just throwing out suggestions. In the end whatever is the most straightforward to implement is the best, and only the devs have the basis to know what that would be.

So is Vista as craptacular as every other Windows release? I've heard that it phones home every ten minutes to check whether or not it's a valid copy. If it thinks it's not then you have 30 seconds to enter your 16 digit credit card number and your 3 or 4 digit security code, otherwise your PC catches fire and melts. Plus you have to digitally sign a

even us "bad people" have been more than lenient as well as helpful There are "bad people" that are often not as bad as their forum persona would like to admit and the converse is true of the so called "good people".

@CraigHB, for what it's worth, I'm sorry I made you relive that, and I'm glad you're back in the game. Please don't take it personally; I was looking for posts that had a certain tone to make a point, and I just harvested some examples at random It was very clear that there was no ill intent on your part.
