[quote who="Crastiloowa" reply="1" id="3412000"]Assuming you're talking Windows here: First piece of advice: don't back up programs. Even if you back up all the executable files in e.g. Program Files, there is going to be configuration necessary to run those of any complexity stored elsewhere (such as the registry), and possibly dependencies that get installed elsewhere (e.g. runtimes for frameworks that get installed into the Global Assembly Cache.) What y

I currently back up all of my critcal files to an online service, but I'd like to be able to backup the entire contents of my hard drive, so that in the event of a HD crash or a particularly bad virus, I could just copy everything back onto a new HD (or the existing one), instead of having to reload dozens of programs. I've done my due dilligence with researching portable HD's, but any ideas, advice, caveats or suggestions

I'd like for the end user to have the ability to mix and match different components of different styles, without having to use Skin Studio. With the move to a Win 8 framework, that may be an outdated idea though...

Elemental: The revenge of the pink bunny slippers. Elental: The search for the lost lollipop But seriously, I think the best title would be Elemental II. Civilization has released a couple of less than stellar versions, yet they keep the name consistent.

I cast ineluctable vision and had it active for quite a while. I decided I didn't need it, and canceled the enchantment, but I could still see the entire map. The first pic shows the minimap. The entire map can be seen. The second pic shows the enchantment list. Inelectable vision was dispelled, and not on the list. the third pic shows the spell book. Ineluctable vision is not "grayed out". That is, it's available to be cast, and not active. Hopef

And slam that door shut on old hardware. 64 bit and DirectX11 don't seem to be asking for too much, I'd wager most gamers already have both. This sounds like good news for the gaming industry. Unfortuntely, it also sound like the door slamming shut on people who don't have the latest and greatest hardware. I hope I'm wrong though...

The problem with healthcare costs isn't the insurance companies and what they allow or disallow, it's with the doctors and hospitals. Without going into detail, I have personally been given unnecessary test and asked to come back repeatedly for what where unecessary visits. I have gone for standard annual visit and have seen addional charges on my bill that had nothing to do with the visit. (they insisted it wasn't a billing error). Multiply these slimy practices 300 milli

Research the first 3 civ techs Build a second pioneer when your first city hits a population of 60. Build bell tower (and cleric if available) Build Study. Buiild as many militia that you can afford. Your second city, ideally should be a fort. The key to keeping the AI off you back as long as possible is to ramp up your power ratiing, and keep it at least level, if not higher, than the AI. With the AI at bay, you'll have time to leve

I honestly think the issue with the elemental name is in your head (I'm not trying to be mean or snarky here). The ghost of it''s release is still haunting your dreams, when everyone else has moved on. But we are all saying pretty positive things so far, and you keep pushing back. So what was the point of you post? Are you looking for a solution? Sympathy? Justifying in your head why it's not selling as well as you like. Forming an excuse to not focus o

First you say it's selling insanely well, then you say it's being held back. Sounds like contradictory statements. So you're saying that people are getting confused because they don't know the connection between Elemental and LH? The solution is, with the next big iteration, just completely rename it.
