What happens if you disable DF and use the Windows default?
Thanks for the feedback.
If you have not contacted support, please do so. More data is better. https://esupport.stardock.com/index.php?/default_import/Tickets/Submit
If you can contact support so we can collect a bit more data (resolution, DPI, app used to change wallpaper, etc) we'd appreciate it. https://esupport.stardock.com/index.php?/default_import/Tickets/Submit
We are aware of this issue and should have a fix soon. Thanks for reporting it.
Thank you for reporting these. We are looking into them. Please note that Folder Portals will ALWAYS show labels Also note that Windows is setting the spacing for your second item. It will set the width to the longest string in the control.

What version of Fences? What resolution and what DPI of each please? Are you using some software to span the wallpaper across monitors?
As you uninstalled Fences, rebooted and still had an issue I'm not sure it's a Fences issue. I wonder if you had opened Task Manager if there might have been a clue as to what was using the memory
The feature does not exist. I will make sure the devs are aware of your desire though. As an aside, pages work in dual monitor systems. Perhaps oddly, you need to drag an icon or fence to the new page to really invoke it.
Using 3.0.4.12 Create new folder on desktop Name it test Right click on folder Select "Show this folder on the desktop" Observe a portal fence created called test Right click on test fence Select New -> Text Document Observe a new file is created in the portal Name it test Observe file is named test.txt Left click on Fence titlebar Select Open Folder
Is this a new version? It says 3.0.4.12, if it is a new version I still can't drag and drop a folder into a rolled up Fence.
That is scheduled for 3.0.5. Soonish I hope. This is (almost) the same build as the beta released last week.
C:\Users\[USERNAME]\Downloads\Stardock if done at the beginning of a 3.03 install C:\ProgramData\Stardock\Fences3\Update if a window appears and prompts for an update
Additionally I get the FencesBootstrap message when using the 3.0.4_12 beta. So I can not upgrade with both newer versions.
The beta has fixed that issue in the full release.
1. Enable the backspace key for navigation like in Windows Explorer - when in a sub-folder in a fence backspace moves you up a level.
This should be enabled. If it is not, please contact support at https://esupport.stardock.com/index.php?/default_import/Tickets/Submit
2.
Can't install 3.0.4 - the install tells me that Fences v2 needs to be uninstalled, and the PC rebooted, but I don't have v2 installed, just 3.0.3.
If you are familiar with the registry you can delete the path at Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Stardock\Misc\Fences2 (or just the whole key) and all should be well.

The beta is now live . . version number is still 3.0.4.x
Are you using the new beta (3.0.4.x)? Otherwise, please contact our support team so we can collect more information. https://esupport.stardock.com/index.php?/default_import/Tickets/Submit
I've been seeing Explorer crashes a lot lately when Fences is running. The faulting module is DesktopDock64.dll. I'm running Windows 10 Enterprise, build 14393. I can recreate this crash by using certain functionality in Explorer, such as snapping an application to the edge of the screen or using the go-to-desktop button at the far right of the taskbar. Faulting application name: Explorer.EXE, version: 1
Can you contact support? I'm not seeing what you are seeing and would like more data. If you can provide a video that would be great! https://esupport.stardock.com/index.php?/default_import/Tickets/Submit
Everytime I create a Folder Portal, and navigate the file system, the view defaults to a cluttered icon view instead of the Detail view I have chosen.
This is not a bug but is by design. After you set a sub-folder to a particular view, it will be preserved each time you navigate to it. I will, however, bring it to the dev team as it seems to be something that people want.
1) Fences seem to sometimes reverts to 'Classic Icons' in the view settings. This is extremely annoying for me, as I've spent time making every Fence the right size and view type, and now I have to check this every time I start my machine. Having a desktop tool that allows customisation, but has to be customised every time you start the machine is useless.
If you have not updated to the beta please do so as we believe this issue has been resolved.
