thanks guys I got it figured out thanks to your help I didn't even think to look there. Really I just was wondering how to make the background transparent but after looking at the .jpg I see you have to use bright purple. Thanks again for all your help.
This guy has some great artwork and most makes for really good desktop wallpaper. It is not really so much about "customizing" per say but it will definitely give your desktop background an exciting feel. The wallpapers can be downloaded in his section called the vault. Maybe there is a setting in Windowblinds/XP that I am missing, but I noticed in a lot of skins lately they show no user icon or they show one that has transparencies. Is this a feature of skinstudio preview or whatever other skinning program these authors are using? I just got treetog's latest skin, copperdeck 2, I love it, but I was wondering if it's possible to have a user icon with transparency or something else to make it look nice and go with the skin rather then a white square. mad cat, I'm a bit confused. I am pretty sure all of the stardock software expires after a certain number of days or uses. If you bought any of the software you have no chance of getting a server busy message. You say you used to love this site, I'm sorry if I'm understanding wrong but sounds like you've been here a little while. After this while how can you still be using new skins? Jobeleca, when's the last time you got a direct support answer from an actual human being at microsoft within and hour and without having to pay for it? I must say I think the option should be enabled for less than 7 days or make a setting for it and hopefully they will But in any case my prime goal by purchasing this was to support the site. I know how it is running a site that sucks up a lot of bandwidth.

Yeah....I just did as Wise Old Man suggested. It finally worked after a few restarts of WC browser & doing that refresh a few more times. I'm not sure what the problem was? I did not know I had to manually refresh the library list but it still did not work until the 3rd or 4th try. Orange, as of a few versions ago (I think, maybe longer) .wba files have been able to be double clicked. Now I'm not sure about 95, 98 or ME but I know for sure this works on 2000 and XP. Perhaps try reinstalling windowblinds?...maybe it will recreate the association that has been lost or wasn't created on the first install for some reason. There have been a bunch of updates to the libraries and they're not showing up in my WC Skinbrowser. It hasn't updated since a few days ago, but all other aspects of the program seem to be updating normally (news, discussion). If you are on a domain or if you have turned off the new xp login screen you will not see your user icon on the start menu. Also check to make sure you have your start menu set to the regular option and not the classic. Hope that helps.

I switched my Windows XP pro to behave as one on a domain with the startup being a username/password window instead of the regular XP logon screen so that I can get the control-alt-delete functionality of Windows 2000. Well this is great, I love it. I can lock my pc now. The only problem is I no longer have a user icon on my start menu. Anybody know of a way to fix this? NYxZ, I am not sure if you know, but there is an option which you can choose to optimize the site for speed or visual enhancements (I think those are the wrong words but you get the idea). You should try changing this option see if it helps you out at all. By purchasing the wincustomize subscription I get the browser, but really I have no problem using internet explorer... it says there are a few other benefits and I get some premium skin suites stuff. Are these ones that aren't available for download? I am already an OD subscriber so I get unlimited downloads. Basically am I just getting the browser or is there more to it?

I haven't been to a video game store in a while cause I just don't have money to spend on that, but I remember when they had shareware for sale. You know that free software that you give to your friends for free? But you had to pay for it sometimes, just a few bucks. This was enough to cover the cost of the medium & shipping for the shareware software creator. It is the same idea as paying
