Mickeko - Correct in that VMware themselves did not put out the image. The VM was created and the download is hosted by bagvapp. See the informational page on VMware's site at http://www.vmware.com/appliances/directory/node/146943, and the actual downloads http://bagside.com/bagvapp/. You don't have to download the Win7 RC from Microsoft... you can download a pre-built VMware virtual machine with Win7 RC already installed in it. You can download the free VMware Player software for your Vista PC to run the free VM on it. No changes to your existing OS or hardware, and no conflicts with the beta/RC OS!

Personally, just like Vista, I have no reason to run Win7 in a new partition or on my main partition. I won't be downloading the RC build from MS directly... I plan on downloading the prebuilt VMware virtual machine of the Win7 RC, and run it safely there in a nice sandbox. So Stephen Lee-Woolf, I believe there should be a 4th answer as I don't really fall into any of the existing 3! Yes, it works with XP Pro. Unfortunately, there is a conflict between Fences and DeskScapes on XP. If you enable DeskScapes, then even though Fences is still running, all the icons appear, just as if Fences is not running. Anyone know if Stardock developers are working on this, or if we're just stuck with choosing one or the other on XP?

Seabass: After 2 days of pulling my hair out, I finally was able to completely wipe out the .Net framework 2 and higher, and successfully reinstalled all this morning (2.0 SP1, 3.0 SP1, 3.5). I then reinstalled the Impulse_Full, and successfully ran it. I'll see what happens after a reboot and a day or two, as I *had* gotten Impulse to load and connect once but the next day it wouldn't work (and my .Net stuff was corrupted (couldn't even load up any project in VS2008 at all). One step forward, 17 steps backward. Now, the latest Impulse installer crashes during setup (although it reaches the screen where it claims that Impulse has been installed successfully. Error: AppName impulse.exe, AppVer 1.0.0.0, ModName kernel32.dll, ModVer 5.1.2600.5512, Offset 00012aeb. So I have no idea if the proxy issues have been resolved or not, as I cannot even install Impulse now, let alone attempt to launch it!!! Please make sure that ALL application updates occur on SDC f

Charles - I use both PortableApps and U3 on my 4GB Ativa U3 drive. With PortableApps, you can add any additional app you want if there is a "portable" version, even if there is no specific installer - simply by creating a folder underneath the PortableApps folder on your device, and copying the required files there. CCleaner, Defraggler, and Recuva all work fine that way. Also, the burner utility I use, UltraISO, works fine as a portable app the same way.

OK, prior to a couple of days ago there was an entire section of this forum titled "Stardock Games" underneath "Stardock Support". They seem to have vanished. Is this an error, or was there an announcement which I missed letting us know that subforum was going away? If they have gone away by decision, where are we supposed to post questions regarding the games in Drengin.net / TotalGaming / whatever fancy new name Stardock is calling the system this year?

Might be a Vista thing. AVG 8.0 free, WindowBlinds 6.1 (build 55 x86), Windows XP Pro SP3 here, and all skinning *appears* to be working correctly. Consider upgrading your PC to WinXP.
