Has this been resolved yet? As of this moment (7 May 2008 09:09 EDT), SDC *still* shows the latest version of WB6 available (and installed on my PC) as ver 6.10.079, dated 05/03/2008. Yet the WBConfig (after a reboot) shows version 6.03, Build 45 x86; and all the dlls, etc. the most recent date on them is shown as 2008/03/31! Stardock support, *please* fix this already... we've been waiting for more than a week.
Vista now makes up roughly 25% of our traffic.
Wow... I can't believe it's that high. I'd say 95% of your traffic must come from home users, then - not corporate/business users. At a recent local VMware Users' Group meeting, made up of all corporate I.T. folks in charge of much of their companies' infrastructure, the question was asked "How many of you have Vista installed in your company?"... and out of 65 people in attendance, ZERO hands went up! I'm sorry but Micros

Don't forget that the results of this poll will be misleading. There was (as I commented when the poll came out last week) no "all of the above" choice, or similar choice to indicate more than one alternate OS. I personally am a HUGE VMware user, and have many virtual machines in many flavors of MS products, Linux variations, FreeBSD, OSX, and others. So to view the results of the poll that "Linux coming in a close second" may be skewed, as Zoomba requested the main/most used alternate OS, bu

I have the exact same scenario, on both my home desktop and my laptop (at work). Both updated through SDC (as I still cannot get Impulse to even open up and connect at work). As of 12:25 PM, SDC still shows version 6.10.078 as being installed, and no new/different version available - but WB shows the versions and dates of the files as above. So, it appears that already we see the beginnings of SDC going away and not being updated... ? I sincerely hope that is not the case and this is
You did use the serial for MyColors Magic right, and not a serial for the Premium Suite?
Well, the email I received about the Magic suite being upgraded to use MyColors only had one serial number in it, and that's the one I entered (and used the email address which it was sent to - the only one I believe my Stardock accounts are linked to).
Disciples 2 seems to somehow clash WindowBlinds. Try unloading WindowBlinds before you start Disciples2. I had the same problem, and adding Disciples to the peer-application list whithin WB didn't work, but unloading WB before starting Disciples does the trick (on my XPSP2 Laptop).
Thank you!!! I first tried adding the apps to the WB per-application list, and it worked! In fact, you only need to add the "Discipl2.exe" to the list and completely exclude it (Don't skin it
OpusCroakus: I've spoken with the developers about connecting through a proxy using MyColors ThemeManager. If you set up proxy information (even including user/pass) through SDC or just simply an IP address/Port through IE, the MyColors ThemeManager will pick it up. If this is still giving you a problem (despite having added your proxy information), please let us know. Mike
Hmmm... well, I have SDC set to just use the I.E. proxy settings, and it works *flawl
- Install MyColors - Open MyColors and install Magic/Pirate
That's great... *if* it works. I've installed MyColors, then opened it up. Attempted to enter my registration info... and it fails! So I cannot "install Magic" (and therefore cannot continue to any of the remaining steps). It appears that MyColors uses the same new technology as Impulse, and therefore I cannot use it.

Well, I voted. Unfortunately, there are not enough choices... you should have options for those of us using more than one of your listed choices (via VMware I use multiple Microsoft, multiple Linux-based, multiple *nix-based, Solaris, and OSX OS's). With the current poll, I could only select one, though. :-(

OK, I posted a few hours too soon. When I got home, I had an email with the link and serial for MyColors and Magic suite. I downloaded it today, launched it, and have apparently the exact same issue I have with Impulse - I enter the registration data, only to (eventually) get an error message "There was an error validating your registration information, please try again." Does this mean that MyColors, like Impulse (and UNlike Stardock Central), has issues with proxy servers which require logi
Unless you have some sort of firewall issue or so other block I'd give Impulse another shot, OpusCroakus. That update has been showing on Impulse for weeks. It wasn't available(no update button) but was listed.I'm sticking with Impulse from now on, bugs and all. 3/30/2008 was the date of the update, I posted the # already. I hadn't used TM much before so I can't tell you what's new.Oddly enough, My Colors themes DO appear in TM, but not the other way around.

Impulse or SDC?ThemeManager or MyColors ThemeManager?so many choices these days.
SDC, as I still cannot get Impulse to run/connect/login/display any kind of window other than the splash screen. Regular ThemeManager. Didn't know there was any other kind; as MyColors is a different paid-for product than ObjectDesktop.

I'm having trouble getting Disciples 2 to run. I can download and install the game and all of its components. When I run the shortcut, a launcher window appears. But no matter what I click on, nothing happens. I've even tried launching the exe's directly from their installed folders with the same results. I've tried 2 different computers - my desktop and my laptop - both running XP SP2, latest Stardock apps/etc. installed. Is there a log/error file which

Ahh - finally a clue! Working with a test application from Stardock Support, I learned via the output logs that Impulse is using a web service instead of merely connecting to a web site somewhere. And I am positive that my corporate proxy/firewall blocks web services! Weidbrewer, you may want to investigate down that path... So, #1: Why not state this up front, to help us frustrated users understand and/or troubleshoot why we aren't able to connect? #2: Why use a web service?
But one quick question I have is does your proxy require authentication with a username and password?
Yes, it's an HTTP proxy which does require login. They changed, several months back (I think around October 2007) to one which is integrated with ADSI, so if the app is aware, our windows logon/pwd are just automagically used/sent. As I've said, SDC works just fine, with all the fields left blank - thereby using Internet Explorer's settings - I no longer see a logon pro

Alright - so what is the answer here: Is Impulse still in beta (as this forum subgroup and thread seem to indicate)? Or is it production (as the main forum group, the locking of all "problem with Impulse" threads, and the thread for "Discuss issues here" seem to indicate)? How does one actually get the program to RUN once it is installed? Installed on WinXP Pro SP2, Comodo Firewall Pro 3.0.21.329 (latest) - with Impulse and ImpulseMini set as Safe/trusted apps. Well, it'd be helpful if Impulse actually worked... and/or gave hints about the issues it sees when it doesn't work, and what the end user could try to do to get it to work. To me, this entire thing looks like a bunch of eye candy, and a dumbed-down user interface from what USED to be a very useful, and (at least to me) easy to use application - Stardock Central (aptly named, as the central application which to run to download/install/uninstall/update/run everything produced by Stardock). Heck

Kosati - you might need to use MS's "Windows Installer Cleanup Utility" to remove the entry from the Add/Remove programs list and/or remove its traces so that it can be reinstalled. Search MS's site for the download for that utility.

Click the "Edit" link at the top right of the "Galleries" frame to select which galleries to show/hide. As to the original question - different layouts!! I still like the older style of this site rather than the redesigned one (from a year or two ago). It's harder to search through
