Im i one of the only supporters of this war!

Im i one of the only supporters of this war!

I have many reasons why i support this war one for the fact if we were to let Saddam go free with out a fight all that would happen is that again he would fund the Al Quiada network once more. when this would happen guess who they would blame they would blame Bush because he could have stopped it but didnt. What does this signify that we need millions more to dies people till you let bush do whats necessary to keep our country free. There will never be peace among man for as long as there is peace there will always be someone wanting to make himself better more powerful then others. Thats why the though of peace is yet to be and until man is able to understand the way of life and why we exist we may never know the true feeling of peace. For any quarele that men undergo can and sometimes will turn out to be massive wars. Think about this also our president is fighting for your right to be able to say things like you dont support the war and that you think your president is stupid. if you where to speak againts ur president in Iraq they would chop off your tongue if you where to steal say goodbye to your hands if you where to run from the authority youd get your feet cut off so think about that.

Santos_X13 .... you are an ignorant clod.
There are more Australians in Iraq per capita head of population than either of the US or British forces. >
If you can't figure that out .... STFU! >
Most of the people who discuss the so-called 'Police Action' in Iraq have a decent grasp of who is doing what to whom.

part of the problem, wombat, is that with the special stuff the aussies are doing, no one ever hears a peep about it on the news so long as it's going perfectly. i take no news on their activities as a clear sign they've been tremendously successful.

BKB...yes, the English SAS bit off a bit too much and needed extraction...but there's been hardly a peep about what the Aussies are up to, so it's assumed they are well in control of their situation...

> I think you can still care about the troops(and I do)without blindly following a government that has no business in Iraq and a president who tries to enforce Texas cowboy style law in a world arena. We should keep our nose out of everybody elses business and if it becomes necessary to help another country, we should make damn sure that were not alone! I love America and Americans but we need to learn to deal with the root of terrorism instead of just taking the easy way out. I think its really ironic that WE ARE THE ONLY COUNTRY TO EVER ACTUAllY USE AN ATOMIC BOMB AGAINST ANOTHER COUNTRY, yet we're so worried about every other country! Don't forget people, we gave Saddam $3 billion dollars to go and kill Iranians for us over a decade ago and our CIA trained Osama Bin Laden!

"I love America and Americans but we need to learn to deal with the root of terrorism instead of just taking the easy way out" - grizz660

this is a good statement, but i would go farther. we need to attack the terrorism problem at both ends: head and root. you're right, it makes no sense to pull weeds and leave the roots in the ground.

grizz660: your points have been dealt with on another string. A decade is 10 years, 2003-10=1993. Do you suck at history or math?

I'm getting to the point that I don't care if these MTV newsheads educate themselves or not. I could waste a half hour cutting and pasting all the statistics I have posted a dozen times before, but then some other loon would wander in and start it all over again. I'm beyond caring if they realize they are passing around ignorant opinions.

Social Darwinism? Maybe. I've ranted against popular political thought so often it's hard for me to believe that what I wanted actually happened this time. It is nice to see the people who sit at the 'cool table' whine and feel impotent for a change.

BKB ... you're right in that context of course.
The "News Story" that came out of Afghanistan early in the operation cracked me up .... "Australian Special Forces Exchange Fire With Taliband" (or something like that!)!!!!
If there was any contact the Taliband wouldn't be around to mention it, end of story. >

lol... i still can't get over that.

Why not say "Time magazine made Adolf Hitler their man of the year over a decade ago!!"

OMG!!! If ya think about it there were slaves picking cotton in the south over a decade ago!! Heinous!!! Where'd those dinosaurs go??? This Bush fellah has some 'splaining to do.

When people talk about the US government you'd think it was just one long administration. Oh, wait, since a shadowy group of corporate Freemasons rule the world I guess it has just been one long administration. Lemme get my tin foil hat before the UFO people show up...

( my wisdom teeth hurt, of course I am irritable. sue me. )

bakerstreet, why do you pick on words like that? Whether it's 10 years or 20 years isn't important.
The US has a responsability over Saddam's attrocities, so does a couple of European countries, so does Russia, so does a few other Iraq surrounding countries. Heck, after Saddam massacred the Kurds, it was still business as usual between Iraq and the rest of World. An embargo was proposed, sanctions were suggested, but quickly rejected. It seems the situation wasn't serious enough yet. It took the invasion of Koweit to wake up.

if a policeman begins to use his training and weaponry for criminal purposes at some point in his career, you don't hang the academy instructors who trained him, or the supply clerk who put the gun and shield into his hands.

No, but after he kills a few thousand people in his town, maybe that should tell something?

paxx: You are above this kind of thing. Just like I am not gonna re-post statistics for the guy above, I'm not gonna post them for you. The only thing I will say is that between the years 1983 and 2000, the US was 11th on the list of military support of Iraq. After an expenditure of almost a hundred billion dollars, we will be a bit higher on the 'clean up the world's mess' list than those nations that were both the *main* supporters of his regime and the most vocal members of the Security council opposed to his removal.

Can you people not open your eyes? There is a reason his military flew french Mirage aircraft and Soviet T tanks. Those were Russian and Chinese made AK-47s, not US made M-16's. Get a grip.

I think ironicaly, the Iraqis will love there new sense of freedom and wealth.

even though it took a bomb to do it.

History sucks... but basically any freedom anywhere was paid for by someones life and a explosion of a bomb.

Hiroshima??? so what about Pearl Harbor? If you want to site a American atocity be sure to mention other nation as well. Also keep in mind that war in ugly for a reason, and that is why it usually ends.

I don't think allot of people problems with America has to do with anti-americanism. I think it has more to do with anit-humanism. Allot of the world traits and ambitions that has been traped over America can be easliey draped over other countries very easily.

I think the real probelm is humanity and its intentions. There is not country that does not have intentions.

"thee who cast the first stone..."

nice literal quote... but not to be taken literally. This could mean do nothing while someone else kills because you are not that innocent yourself?

We have to be careful with direct quotes especailly from the Bible, the most misunderstood book in the history of mankind. that quote was not ment to be seperated from other quotes, paragraphs, stories, and, well, the whole book.

I undrstand what you mean somewhat, but understand that all are 'sinners' and we have to decide how to maintain order in a society full or humans who sin.

I am with you too. I think that it is pretty pathedic that some country wants to mess with the USA shooting down our planes I mean what is wrong with them do they not realize that we are gonna win and that they might as well give up because if they give up they will be 1 of 2 things 1 being alive
2 being treated better by us then the iraqi military. oh and did you know that saddam husseins palace is about 2 miles long?

"... what is wrong with them do they not realize that we are gonna win ..."

the concept is called patriotism, something you are probably familiar with

and we all know that Saddam is/was one of the worst dictators on this planet, but honestly i don´t care about the length of his palaces. there´s no country where the politrickshans live in trailer parks.
