Im i one of the only supporters of this war!

Im i one of the only supporters of this war!

I have many reasons why i support this war one for the fact if we were to let Saddam go free with out a fight all that would happen is that again he would fund the Al Quiada network once more. when this would happen guess who they would blame they would blame Bush because he could have stopped it but didnt. What does this signify that we need millions more to dies people till you let bush do whats necessary to keep our country free. There will never be peace among man for as long as there is peace there will always be someone wanting to make himself better more powerful then others. Thats why the though of peace is yet to be and until man is able to understand the way of life and why we exist we may never know the true feeling of peace. For any quarele that men undergo can and sometimes will turn out to be massive wars. Think about this also our president is fighting for your right to be able to say things like you dont support the war and that you think your president is stupid. if you where to speak againts ur president in Iraq they would chop off your tongue if you where to steal say goodbye to your hands if you where to run from the authority youd get your feet cut off so think about that.

Nah....both threads now, [unfortunately] have valid commentary from both sides of the fence so it'd be unfair to remove either.....just would have been 'tidier' to have kept it in one neat pile, rather than two....

Suddenly I get the urge to listen to Alice's Restaurant all over again....

I wanna kill...I wanna kill...I wanna eat dead burnt bodies....I wanna kill....
and we both jumped up on the table yelling 'keel.....keel....keel...' until he stopped and looked at me and said 'son, your our man'.....

[OK, so it was recited from memory....but close enough]...

DavidK: I am a resident of Australia.
Before all the rest of you lot start going off, no, I do not condone Australia's involvement but I do understand that the Prime Minister had absolutely no choice but to offer Australia's support regardless of the people's opinion. I do commend him for keeping Australian involvement to an absolute minimum. Restricting missions to either defense or, in the case of our SAS, to strikes involving purely military targets. But the fact remains that Australia should never have been involved in a fight that America picked.

Frankly I just can't believe that Darth Vader is Luke Skywalker's father.

"Feel free to continue wallowing in your own self importance telling eachother how great you all are for being American and for spreading "peace" throughout the galaxy... Lets hope that you have the opportunity of coming home one day to find your wife burnt to a crisp and your children splattered all over the charred remains of your home; the result of a weapon fired in the name of peace and freedom" - wytraven

for the record, Jafo: this rhetoric is at least as offensive and inexcusable as posting the word "gay" in a comment. ah, but the perpetrator is from where? and the group whose families he hopes will meet a violent death ( americans ) are not a protected species. i see how this works rightly enough. >

Jafo,"Suddenly I get the urge to listen to Alice's Restaurant all over again...."

Now you're talkin'!!

For the record, I am strongly in favor of the military action taken in Iraq. And I'd put my knowledge of history and contemporary politics up against anyone here.

Whether you're for or against "the war", it probably wouldn't kill anyone here to contemplate that those with differing views just MIGHT have given them some thought. Obviously many people have not on both sides but plenty of people have.

BTW Jafo, after "dead, burnt bodies" "veins in my teeth"
Just remembered that.

Bangkok, he's making a point, a vivid one at that I agree, but the point is "how would you feel if...". It's not meant towards every American but as a wake up call to the pro-war people, or am I wrong here?

"how would you feel if..." always precedes a hypothetical question. "Let's hope that .." always precedes a statement of desire.
i wouldn't put words into his mouth, and i also don't believe in taking words out of his mouth and substituting something acceptable in their place.

Thanks, bordfryr....I did remember that, but just forgot to type it...and couldn't be bothered re-posting....

If we had taken out Saddam Hussein when we were there the first time NONE of this would be necessary now!!!

Never leave a job unfinished.

In response to the title of this thread: No. Visit www.protestwarrior.com. I like it.

And, to quote Paul Shanklin (I think): "Yakety Yak (Bomb Iraq!)"

#77 .... Odd how the 'Peace Protests' and 'Ant War' demonstrations in this country have been so violent! >
Very impressed by the 'knowlege' of those participating ... NOT!!
The usual 'rent a crowd' and kiddies taking a day off school .... and the inevitable minions of the obnoxious Lee Hubbard!

bkb...it is emotive rhetoric, comparison by association....may be distasteful but valid in its generality.

What is not 'valid' is a presupposition that the comment remains here through some prejudiced opinion of an Australian [me] who may, or may not agree with a fellow Australian.

As it happens, I don't agree with the sentiment which is exactly WHY it stays......pure objectivism on my part.
I suggest you apply the same.

And, just for the record, that comment of 'Gay > ' was on on inkline drawing of my wife, done by me in 1981....[with a 'devious' little trick of creating an etched 3D effect with it]....hardly evidence of anyone's homosexuality, ergo the comment was from an intellectual midget....
Jafs, I tried to explain in your other thread that kids today say "this is so gay" to mean "this totally sucks"...

No less of an insult of course and yes, made by an intellectual midget with nothing more in his brain pan than whistling wind...

Gosh Wytraven why dont you go DL Daryl Worley - Have You Forgotten its a song for the narrow minded like! its a damn good song and its means a lot to me a AMERICAN CITIZEN that thank god everyday for our freedom that we are able to enjoy! so dont come talking crap its not like the Aussies are doing anything to help us in this war but yet when you guys seem to get yourself in these little messes who do you come to the US of A because we dont go around turning you down because where better than that!

Santos...FYI, 50% of our entire elite SAS has been deep inside Iraq now for 3 weeks....directing fire and passing on intel while avoiding discovery.
We currently have 2 ships in the gulf, and a third just left for there 2 days ago.
There's a dozen or so F18s of the RAAF currently doing strikes, and Navy Engineers are disarming sea mines by hand....one of the deadliest things you can do....groping around in murky water, feeling for a detonator.
Why don't you try it sometime, it might adjust your views of what exactly Australia is doing to help the US....

a green beret i knew in cambodia discoursed on the downside of being too good at what you do. i see things haven't changed a bit in 35 years - you still get saddled with all the "fun" jobs.
BKB...yes, that's true...our SAS is based in Western Australia.....one of the driest parts of the world, so are well conditioned to handling desert survival, hence their use, and probably hence Bush's gratitude for their involvement.....

yeah Ausie's rule...
(but im not Aussie, I'm American, Aussie's are cool in my book)

Have you forgotten is wondefull song, and Daryl Worley sure makes a good point.
