Im i one of the only supporters of this war!

I have many reasons why i support this war one for the fact if we were to let Saddam go free with out a fight all that would happen is that again he would fund the Al Quiada network once more. when this would happen guess who they would blame they would blame Bush because he could have stopped it but didnt. What does this signify that we need millions more to dies people till you let bush do whats necessary to keep our country free. There will never be peace among man for as long as there is peace there will always be someone wanting to make himself better more powerful then others. Thats why the though of peace is yet to be and until man is able to understand the way of life and why we exist we may never know the true feeling of peace. For any quarele that men undergo can and sometimes will turn out to be massive wars. Think about this also our president is fighting for your right to be able to say things like you dont support the war and that you think your president is stupid. if you where to speak againts ur president in Iraq they would chop off your tongue if you where to steal say goodbye to your hands if you where to run from the authority youd get your feet cut off so think about that.

GA .. so do we.
The infamous 'In Service Black Humour' is always a relief valve, but 'civilians' would never be amused.

As in Vietnam period ...Q. "How can you shoot women and children???"
A. "Depends on the range and the crosswind. Sometimes you need to wind off a couple of clicks ....!"

But the 'kiddies' who have never been there and done that need a good reality check. >

I didn't mean that it wasn't a real hospital quite so much, I meant that it wasn't a hospital anymore. Since the war began the hospital have been used as place for the troops to hide, that was mearly my point. But good observation Paxx And you left out that she was being slapped when he saw her, as the article states

but you show Paxx, that is hard to keep a good objective on this. The facts get mixed in with so much, then you have everyone in the world wanting to play the victim, including Iraq, and the wonderfull US of A. The Media adds to things, and forgets to mention things. New rumors are floating around that the weapons found were from the countries that are against the war, such France, and Syria... kind of odd I think. It makes sense that would be why these countries wouldn't want the war, selling weapons to Iraq and such, but also this is the propaganda the US Media could come up with to rally support. So, until I see proof of this from someone in the UN i'm not taking anyone's side on where the weapons came from. As for the war, I hope it ends soon, and I hope the world can find peace in our lifetime Paxx, im sure we can agree on that one.

I'm still finding it hard to justify two threads on what is the same subject.

What say we limit it to one, and use the energies saved to indulge in actually skinning something...

I do not support this war in any way, shape, or form. It was an unprovoked attack instigated by the worlds largest dicatator, namely the US of $%&*#@() A. America; high on it's own arrogance has drawn other nations through political coercion into a battle for America's home land security. This war is not about oil. This war is not about Iraqi freedom. This war is about American homeland security. This war is about America attempting to snuff out any possible threat to itself. America doesnt give a $%^@ about any nation but itself. I don't expect any American to understand this as you will no doubt be deluded by the propaganda that your government/media (is there a difference in America...) spoon feeds you on a daily basis. America is a wolf in sheep's clothing parading around the planet sprouting verbal diharea about peace and prosperity whilst dictating democracy with Tommahawks and Daisy Cutters. Who gave you the right to decide what happens anywhere outside your own borders? I know I sure as hell didn't give you that right.
America decided to show its true colours in this particular instance, defying the will of the United Nations knowing full well that no one will stand up to them. Why because you've got all the guns... and that's just the way you like it. If any of the other nations on this planet suggested that America should be stripped of its weapons of mass destruction I seriously doubt that America would be quick to cooperate. While on the subject of weapons of mass destruction... America has taken great pains to paint Saddam Husein as a monster because of his use of chemical wepaons, tell me, what is the difference between a weapon that kills lots of people slowly and one that kills lots of people quickly? Nothing, they both kill lots of people and that is all that is relevant. America should be stripped of ITS weapons of mass destruction. I dont care what anyone says there is no comparison between what Saddam has done and what America has done in the past. Do you forget that you dropped two nuclear weapons of mass destruction onto two CIVILIAN targets?? Talk about the pot calling the kettle black...sheesh! What happened to America as a result of that? Nothing! I see that even to this day they are still calling up Germans on war crime charges for things that happened in WWII and yet no American has ever been charged with a war crime related to that incident of infinite stupidity. What about the indescriminate carpet bombing of Cambodia? Nope not even a rap on the knucles for that one...but I digress...
The point of this post is not to attack the American people, I think nothing bad inparticualar about the average American Joe Blow, but rather it was an attempt to lift the scales of propaganda from the eyes of those who may happen to stumble across it. I will summerise with two quotes from the God that America is always asking to bless it: Matthew 7:5 "You hypocrite, remove the wooden beam from your eye first; then you will see clearly to remove the splinter from your brother's eye." John 8:7 "Let the one among you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone..."
Feel free to snicker and berate me for the use of scripture, I care not. God bless America? I think not...

Disclaimer: In the above text the word "America" is used in reference to the political entity not the people.

WytRaven: no need to snicker and berate you for scripture, the rest of your post will do. All the points have been taken up on the "US is going to war tomarrow... dang..." string. I figure if you wanna know people's opinions on "your" ideas of the war you can read the 1000+ posts there, but honestly I don't think you want anyone else's opinion. Your ideas about Nagazaki and Hiroshima are insultingly racist and historically ignorant, showing just how important 'truth' is to your argument.

Why do people waste their time copying other people's opinions? Must be spring break somewhere. If I had a dime for every MTV news op/ed peice I have seen posted here...

"Who gave you the right to decide what happens anywhere outside your own borders?" - wytraven

when the outnumbered and outgunned american fleet beat the japanese fleet at the Coral Sea and sent it homeward, not a single Aussie asked us the question you've posed.

WytRaven, I think you are way off base. You should check your history books. Saddam is responsible for the murders, torture, rape of hundreds of thousands of people. Doesn't that mean anything to you? As far as dropping the atomic bombs on Japan, what about the unprovoked attack on Pearl Harbor? If no one shouldered the responsibility of "policing" the world, what do you think would happen? We would ALL be under a dictatorship. You need to rethink before you go off on the USA.

"Yawn! Good morning. Oooo feel the love!"

bakerstreet: maybe you should put on your reading glasses and check that post or maybe you should move you ignorance a little to the left so you can see past the end of your nose. I made a post similar to this one at the begining of said post. If someone else happens to feel the same way as me then 'yay' for them. If someone else happens to dissagree with me then 'yay' for them too.

All I can hope for is that "what goes around comes around"

And that ends my input on this sorry matter. Feel free to continue wallowing in your own self importance telling eachother how great you all are for being American and for spreading "peace" throughout the galaxy... Lets hope that you have the opportunity of coming home one day to find your wife burnt to a crisp and your children splattered all over the charred remains of your home; the result of a weapon fired in the name of peace and freedom. Reality's a bitch ain't it?

What good is peace if people are being attacked, mutilated, tortured, murdered, and raped?

I like peace, but that seems like peace at a price.

WytRaven, what would be your solution to Saddam's treatment of his own people and his alignment to terrorists and threatenting weapons of mass destruction?

I'm astounded. The pathetic outcry of "we're wrong, but stop dissing our way of life/country anyhow" is nothing short but rediculous.
Some people will start screaming "fine, hate the US", I don't. I'm _scared_ of the military junta in charge, the puppeteers behind Bush. (Hi Cheney, hi Ashcroft et.c)

The weak excuse of Terrorism being the reason for invading another country. (Yes, invade. It's not a "disarmament" through "Operation Iraq freedom". )
really gets the stomach acid going when you think about that Bush is pushing for the developement of mini-nukes, which is in direct violation of the comprehensive test Ban Treaty, and that the US rejected the international accord to enforce the 1972 treaty banning germ warfare, refused to sign the peace treaty with North Korea et.c. Wait a minute, which is the ONLY country convicted of state terrorism? Oi vey.

Sure, Saddam has been slow to follow up on the restrictions and demands of the UN(US, but just see how much the US has pushed them and it's easy to see they're being manipulated in being reluctant about letting everyone get free hands in their country. Persian culture has a strong sense of pride in it and admittedly, it's not hard to by being obtusely blunt to them, making them dig in their heels to save their pride.

Hey I got an idea, let's call down the UN and have them defend the country being invaded. - How about that, hmmm?

*waits for the bombardment of accusations of being a communist, hippie and a "traitor to my country", instead of decent arguments*

I agree, Fuzzy. I'm sorry I ever got into this discussion in the first place. No point in encouraging hard feelings.

Please don't delete the threads... if anyone doesn't want to read them it's very easy to not OPEN them. People are entitled to their opinions and this war is one that will bring forth many opposing views. That's okay, we can handle it.

WytRaven - I'm curious, what country are you from?

I agree that "fighhting terrorism" is a lame excuse for this war. Every expert opinion on that seems to be that this war will increase terrorism aimed at the US. I also think pre-emption and the use of nukes and chem/bio weapons that the Bush administration is touting endangers the entire world. This American "regime" is producing a world crisis.

I'm glad to hear that they're planning to spend billions providing the Iraqi's with universal health-care and brand new schools and hospitals... too bad they're cutting health and education budgets in America to the bone... something like 25,000 schools are closing here due to lack of funding and the schools that are left are falling apart. But Saddam's neighbors, the Saudi's, the Kuwati's can rest easier in their palaces knowing we've saved them from the threat of mass destruction... Once the Iraqi citizens recover from the shock and awe of being blitzkreiged into a US led benevolent military dictatorship I'm sure they'll just love their new sense of wealth and freedom...

I say delete this one and any others that spring up. People like WytRaven are just gonna keep wandering in and posting here because they don't see the other one or they are too lazy to wade 1000 posts in...
