... he likes strategy games? From grammar and spelling alone, I question whether he has the brain power to even play them.

EDIT: Note to some posters here: Try to keep your grammar and spelling decent, too. I'm trying not to be a grammar nazi, bit it is very tempting to ream some of you for using poor English. I can understand if you are from a non-English-speaking country, but I'm used to the idea that foreigners tend to be better at the language, while the average American is crap-tastic with it. I'm not going to name names, though. Very tempted to do so.

This is a forum, not a chat room. You don't have to rush ahead and type a message without proofreading it. Don't use 'u' instead of 'you', either, and similar things. That, in particular, is getting very fracking annoying...

Guess the guy does not like the game then

PaladinStorm > Who cares?? If the worst that happened here was a few posts with poor grammer and/or spelling in then the forums would be a happier place. More we should worry about those members who take threads completely off-topic and start 'flame wars' over comments that belong in their own threads.

DG:

If you're going to complain that a game is awful, it really should be done in proper grammer. Taking his spelling and the "I don't get it" statement into account, I'm guessing the AI beat seventy eight kinds of crap out of him.

About the review:

I laughed. And laughed. Then laughed some more. Some of the player reviews there really are just pathetically done.

lol- Well I guess the learning curve was to steep for him. Oh well- Thanks for posting it Feud, it was worth the chuckle. As far as his spelling, typo's and grammer go- I think everybody can still get his point.

One of my guilty pleasures is to go to Amazon or another place with user reviews and select the lowest ratings for an item. It's often entertaining, and you can learn a lot about something by seeing the people who don't like it and why.

Hehe, I think sometimes the people who use english as a second language have better writing skills than the natives. Us Americans are notorious for not using english properly. The French are right about that. They complain how Americans butcher their own language. They get really mad when we do it to theirs.

I agree.

Wow.. That's funny paladinstorm. haha. It kinda reminds me of people who gives Everquest/World of Warcraft a low score and compares it to Diablo 2 as an Online RPG game.

That should be "We Americans are notorious ..."

Couldn't resist that

True, as said above, poor grammar and spelling are not the worst thing that could happen here, but the attempt is still worthwhile. Good writing not only makes for more clarity, but it lends credibility to the writer. The opposite makes one an easy target for those who disagree with what is being said. In this case, it is temptingly easy to dismiss the GalCiv critic as a moron.

(I re-read this post a couple of times to make certain it contained no spelling or grammar errors. Chances are, as soon as I post it I'll see a big one!   )

Do you have a URL to that one? That sounds like an..interesting review.

Well, if Americans spoke English, I'd be inclined to agree with the above statements claiming that the 'natives' are poorer at it than people who use it as a second language. However, American woefully underqualifies as any form of English.

So let's just simplify; we speak a Germanic tongue. Whatever it is. The end.

Back on topic: I love to read reviews like this, and I believe alot of people write reviews such as this one on purpose. Nothing like an entertaining afternoon of trolling. I was actually surprised some of the exclamation marks weren't replaced by 'one' or '1' or 'eleven'. Lol

I just checked back on Gamespot, it seems either the Author or the site have since removed the review, it now lists the most receant as being posted on the 20th of September. The quotation I included in the OP was the entire review.

Something tells me this kid's idea of a strategy game is Warcraft 3...

CIVILIZATION GAEMS

... I assume by this part of the review that he does, indeed, play games more complicated than Warcraft 3. However, I still wonder how he'd have the intellect to play them.

Last time I checked Finding Waldo was not a Civilization game.

Sounds to me that if the game has more than 2 buttons to push, with the mouse pointer that is, it may be a bit extreme for him.

Good writing not only makes for more clarity, but it lends credibility to the writer.

Bingo!

Wait, another Civilization ga..... err wait... that is luck. My mistake.
