Thanks Sean. The slider is working to change which is primary. But using your method I still have 2 different versions of multiplicity. When I activate multiplicity 4 via stardock account it will always default to my object desktop version so I can only use the KVM features on one actual pc. When I go to the about section, one install says version 4 beta 3 pro, and the other version says just says version 4 beta 3 (without pro at the end) When I switch my primary to the other
Following what I wrote there, 'only 1 Primary is allowed to be activated per license'. What is odd is that the prompt to activate should still happen when one tries to promote a Secondary to a Primary, allowing you to demote the currently activated Primary in the process... To boot, this all needs to happen regardless if the user has finished creating an account. If something is happening to usurp that, we would need to know. We ar
I've actually experienced the same issue Here is what I have noticed. On my master control pc I have Multiplicty pro installed. But on each additional pc only regular Multiplicity installed. It only allows for one pc to actually have the pro version installed. So if I use the slider to change what pc has master control it doesn't work. If I ever want a different pc to become the master pc I have to deactivate my main pc manually from the stardock website and enter a license co

I reported this compatibly bug earlier and I got a response from the developer. It sounds like he will look into it once he circles back around to start 11 and maybe have a fix for it in an update For now you will have to assign the start 11 menu to open only with the windows key. (found under "control" in the settings menu) edit- see reply #165 of posted link https://forums.stardock.com/506879/page/7/#
Vampothika and Don5318 are incredibly talented skin artists! It is a shame neither of them are currently doing skins.

It sounds like Webroot is reporting false positives that is making Fences unable to run (everyone that is reporting this issue is running webroot right now). A false positive is not a virus at all, it is a false reading that mistakes an active program as a virus. Basically, when this happens the antivirus quarantines and removes files that are required to make Fences run. Without these files Fences just wont be able to function. Fences would need to be uninstalled / reinstalle
my malware did remove the virus. But now I cannot remove Fences 5. It keeps saying that it is running (which it is not) and therefore cannot remove it.
1. What anti-virus are you using? 2. Where did you get the Fences installer from?
Fences 5 easily uninstalls the traditional way and does not include a Trojan virus on its own. The Trojan had to be injected another way, be it through an illegitimate installer that did not come from Stardock or other various ways. Often times it is helpful to see if you can find the name of the virus and see if there is a guide on how to remove it.
Microsoft's insider previews are pretty confusing right now. I believe the beta channel is only beta testing future 23h2 releases right now. However, the release channel is testing both 23h2 builds AND 24h2 builds. For people stuck on the beta channel there really isn't a good off ramp. To get to 24h2 you would have to either migrate to the dev channel or do a clean install. Personally, I would choose the clean install.

In fact Windows 11-24H2 is set to reach end of support on October 13, 2026. It seems like the Windows Life Cycle is getting shorter and shorter. Will there be a 25H2, or will we get Windows 12 next?
All those releases were a money making substitute pogenitor of the Beta channel.
Fair enough. I suppose that would be like paying 200 dollars for the 24h2 update.
You aren't going to get a defense of Windows ME or Vista from me. I skipped both of those OS's myself. Between 1995 - 2001. Microsft Released 5 different operating systems in a 6 year time frame. It is very possible Windows ME was released too quickly
Looking back now, Windows 8 might actually be my favorite Operating System. In part because it was a boom for start menu replacements such as start 8. It was pretty gratifying to add start 8's start menu and enjoy the under the hood improvements over Windows 7. Without Windows 8, very possibly there would be no start 11 today and that would be a bummer because I really enjoy modifying what Microsoft does wrong. I kind of feel the same way about 24h2. You really need to ignore the stup

Enough is enough already Microsoft!!!!
I agree, the AI push feels a lot like the Windows 8 push to me. People don't really want it but Microsoft will push it hard to get people to accept it.

I definitely haven't experienced the media's narrative that the update buggy mess. Has anyone here that has actually tried 24h2 experienced any bugs?
It just uses a DRM which limits how many pc's can have start 11 installed at one time ect. Stardock does not collect or sell data for advertisement purposes.
I'm not convinced that an operating system should have built in AI to begin with. Ai seems to work better with programs or apps that fit specific tools or needs. Micorosft has yet to convince me that that AI is actually useful with a start menu or operating system navigation, it almost seems like the wrong tool for the job.
What is CiderAI?
Great question. Obviously it is Stardocks own game engine similar to the unreal engine. But the interesting question is how will this engine use ai. Will it be used to help build games, or will it also be used for gameplay and npc's ect.
This thread is just about a full year old. Does that mean Stardock is getting closer to Fences 6? For example is it a good time to start listing a wish list of what features we would want to see?
I have a couple of feature requests that go with my experience with of Multiplicity 4 beta. 1. Ability to drag and drop in KVM mode between two different computers. Currently I am able to use Fences peak or Groupy saved folder positioning to line up open folders side by side between two different computers very easily which is nice. But to copy files between two pc's in KVM mode I have to still use copy paste. Drag and drop would save me time. 2. While in KVM mode. Hav
So far speed and connection via KVM seems to have improved for me on this build. I am no longer having random disconnects when transferring big files today. I will report if that changes.
