We has also seen the error continues after making the change mentioned.

Sean - we only have Lenovo laptops. I have been responding to the posts so not sure if there was something wrong since they kept getting closed. I will go in and respond to the ticket as soon as I am done responding to this post.
I did but not sure it applies since it was vague. We have many Lenovo laptops and it happens in all. Would be great to get some definitives at this point.
Hi Sean - I have also responded back. Even the newest version does the same thing, unfortunately we have it on about 80 machines now.
Hi Sean - if I kill Start11_64.exe I do not get the Powershell error. I am only using the START button from START11. Hope that data helps.
going to open up a ticket since we have premium support
Correct. But as soon as I uninstall start 11 there is no error whatsoever
Good Afternoon - another data point as I continue to troubleshoot this. If I "kill' the following "SmartMenuExperienceHost.exe" then there is no error. If it restarts or is in "suspended" the error exists.
It happened on reboot and shutdown for all the users (well at least those who have reported). I just uninstalled it on my two machines and have restarted and shutdown multiple times and no error on either. Very odd. We have gotten a number of comments from the users since we rolled out the update on the windows 11 machines.,
Additional data points. Here is the event log just before and when the error happens: Application popup: powershell.exe - Application Error : The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000142). Click OK to close the application. The server {A463FCB9-6B1C-4E0D-A80B-A2CA7999E25D} did not register with
Totally varies. Since there are so many, some are a couple of hours, some are longer. The test I just did was boot up, log in and then shutdown and it happened immediately.
We have installed Start11 on about 20 machines and after installing it we now get the Powershell error. Once we uninstall, the error goes away. hope that helps.
Hi - has anyone else seen the Powershell error after installing Start11. We have tested this and when Start11 is a bunch of the machines, the error happens. When it is removed, there is no longer an error. We are running Windows 11 Version 10.0.22000.918] and Start11 1.25. Any help or guidance you can give would be appreciated.
Hi - we are looking to do a mass upgrade of Start10 to 11. Can you provide a script for this to be seamless?
Not sure how purge is different than uninstall as a whole since I needed to uninstall the application. Again, not a good solution when you have close to 100 machines to handle. Doing the purge and then reinstall seems to give stability but I will wait to hear from you when you will be releasing an update. The 2H20 version has a start menu update so not sure how it impacts the Start 10 product.
Sorry -that should have read "this will be unsustainable"...
HI- the two machines that I upgraded are showing this symptom. I am trying to avoid uninstalling since that will be sustainable to do for all of the fleet.
Hello - is anyone seeing compatibility issues with START10 and the new October 2020 release of Windows 10. On a couple of machines, START10 crashes and restarts. Any feedback would be welcomed.
Hi Sean - Do we have any update on the revised package ?
Just following up on this. Since we have a user base of close to 100 devices this is quite a bit of work to have a clean CONTROL PANEL not to mentioned or inventory reports on which software is installed on machines. Is there a plan to fix this installer issue?
Hi, We are trying to avoid that. Is there a fix for this? It worked just fine when upgrading from older versions. -Peter
We noticed that when installing Start10 1.8 it it does not remove the older version of Start10 on the current machine. It will show the latest and previous versions as separate software's within programs. However, if you try to remove the previous version via control panel it will actually remove both previous and latest versions. From previous versions, it would update the currently installed version and not leave any orphaned versions behind. -P
Hi Sean, I got the admin portion removed which is no longer causing an issue, but I am not able to have the command prompt run silently. Do I need to put a silent switch anywhere in particular within the batch such as before "echo Starting installation..."? Thanks, PTG
Great thank you very much. Are their specific silent switches that can be used within the batch file that launches the EXE. Like /s or /q if so can they be placed anywhere within the batch such as the bottom? Basically I want to run the entire batch silently.
