Hi, can you click “Show more details” on that dialog and post that screenshot? It should give helpful information

Hi mu4, The horizontal spacing – if you move them to two rows. Does this show the issue as well? Possible to show what that looks like? The spacing follows default Windows metrics – including inner-Fence spacing which for many years has followed Explorer's guidance on the spacing of sub-items (system-wide). But we are considering offering more options around that in the future.
I have a laptop with an external monitor connected. New icons go to the upper right corner of the second monitor instead of the primary laptop monitor. Settings in Fences 5 (I updated for testing the problem as well) were check as well as the registry shows primary monitor "DISPLAY1). What else can I do to see new icons on the primary monitor?
Hi IchHabRecht sorry for the problems your experiencing. Is there a chance you might be able to
The section of the dialogue in your reply shows a full size number -- both PCs here that are on Windows 11 show what looks more like a superscript number and it appears to switch only between 0 and 1.
Hi Tracey & Xfade, this is helpful thank you! We were able to reproduce the issue. We think it has to do with high-DPI improvements. The number does eventually tick, but it's indeed quite busted when DPI
Hi all, this has been fixed for next beta. We found that it's an issue of the up/down arrow failing to refresh the textbox -- but the setting itself does apply, as you use the up/down arrows. Closing and re-opening the dialog after using the up/down arrows should show that it took effect, as the number is now updated. This is the setting you're speaking about yes?
Today I first uninstalled the Fences 4 and then installed the new Fences 5. So far everything is fine. Unfortunately, the bugs I have already reported in Fences 4 are also included in Fences 5. - Despite the setting of the program in German, you get a mixture of German and English in the options. - Under "Snapshots" the option "Distance between fences keeps x pixels
In light mode, the Options menu for Chameleon mode could be more visible. I didn't notice it at first. Looks a little bit better in dark mode.
Hey Jan, good call out here thank you, re the options text. Would you be able to share the accent color on
I have a couple of Folder Portals that I made. I like to have things in details view. The issue I see is that the view options do not follow down throughout the folders. You have to set that manually for each folder you open.
Hi Phoon, thanks for the insight. Good news- this is something the team would like to have in Fences 5, and the beginnings are underway! To help us with the
Hi Timmy, In Fences 2.0 and Fences 1.0 Pro, you can right click any fence and set its opacity to "0%". Then, it will be visible only when you mouse over it :) Hope that helps!
BottleTop, I'm sorry that we were unable to deliver the feature that had previously been marked as "coming soon". Indeed we had advertised a feature on the website - a "skinned fences" feature - which was indeed in development. Unfortunately however that feature was scrapped for a few reasons. These reasons included: -Noticeable performance issues vs simple shaded areas. (Concerns with both memory usage + drawing speed. Fences hooks into the desktop's drawing
Hi Michael. Looks like we may need to clarify on the website. Unfortunately folder portals are only available when the desktop compositor is enabled. In "Classic" mode which it appears you're running, it is not, and therefore they aren't supported :(
Jc - Wow, that's wild. I do have SetPoint software and aren't running into that but believe it. Though, I am confused as to how a WM_PAINT message can make a difference. I felt that WM_PAINTs just don't have effect on layered windows. As a matter of fact though, I do eat WM_PAINT's with a ValidateRect (should do the same job i imagine) for my dock item windows (e.g. zooming docks), but not cabinets (tabbed docks). Funny. Will make note to put in that compatibility bit.<
Sorry but this behavior has been removed from ObjectDock. The reason for this is that dragging files on to applications is, in our opinion, too ambiguous of an action ; it is impossible to tell if the user wants to drop the icon onto the dock to add a new icon, or to drag it onto that specific application. To place emphasis on the program being a launcher the choice was made to make it easier to add shortcuts rather than to provide a feature only a smaller population of do
Hi javamanromeo, They should remain in tact and all your settings are designed to transfer, but you might want to make backups just in case. Also if you have custom backgrounds or icons in your ObjectDock v1.0 folder you may want to copy them over to the 2.0 directory as well. If you'd like to backup your settings, head to the run dialog and enter: %localappdata%\Stardock\ObjectDock\ (or %appdata%\Stardock\ObjectDock\ on XP) and make backups of
Hi szemcse. Sorry but at this time there are no plans to add localization support to ObjectDock 2.0 :(
Hi gantonski, Good catch! We've been able to find this problem and resolve it ; it will be repaired in the next release. Thanks!
Hi Jeff, We've been unable to reproduce this. This was a known problem in one of the betas from prehaps a week or two ago ; are you still seeing this problem in the latest revision on Impulse?
nimicitor: Please try right-clicking on any shortcut to access "Run as Administrator", as well as any other file-related shortcuts. Same method as used in explorer to gain access to extended menu items :) mirs: No dell-dock equivalent coming soon sorry :( We're not doing anything to disrupt docklet support however. Excalpius: No luck on getting to the 2nd/3rd monitor issue yet, I have noted it however. Monty: Saving/loading
A note to all - A refresh was put out today, be sure to check it out! Hi horizon, some responses: • i have noticed several occasions where clicking on something in the dock will no longer allow me proper control of windows afterwords until another action is performed [such as i've been hitting the start menu button on my keyboard]. for example, while checking whether the bugs i've already listed before were still present in this version before writing them down, i've lost the ability to type in this window until pressing the start button. in

the tabbed dock doesn't show in the settings?? oh gez, that is odd. screenshot please? / send your settings file to support (& tell them to pass along to jeff)? Win7?
Fixes made to new dialog, we'll be doing an update on Monday. Perhaps once it's working properly we'll get a little better feedback on it.
Eek. Issues with the new Choose Icon dlg seem to be the #1 problem coming down thus far. Will be having to do some research on what could make browsing fail...
