FYI: the refresh of ObjectDock v1.6 Beta is now up on SDC! v1.58a[b].009. Fixes most of the things reported thus far. The flashing one was quite annoying so wanted to take care of that sooner rather than later, and the new restore technique for the minimize/restore animation should near completly clear up any compatibility problems (e.g. trillian.) Thanks for the great feedback everyone!!

thomassen - which icons are doing this? If its several, could I see a small screenshot? I know what you're talking about, but trying to figure out a way around it. Getting icons, when i can, directly from Windows/Explorer can provide for more acure/high-quality icons much faster than loading them manually which is why i set that up...but not sure at this point how to detect if an icon is just a square with a box. I might end up having to actually look at the image and use some programma

Not currently. I am considering adding a hotkey to temporarilly hide & disable all of ObjectDock / press again to reshow. Would this help you at all? -Jeff Bargmann ObjectDock Developer

Known problem with pre-v1.5 ObjectDock. Have you tried updating to the latest version? Let us know if updating does not solve your problem. If you'd like also, try v1.6, a recently updated Preview/Beta of the next release with lots of good Vista features! It's available now on Stardock Central

That's a good idea. I already have a lot of options though. Not sure that might be something we might just need to decide if we want to have it do as a new standard behavior or not, or if that kind of thing should have its own option. DOesn't quite seem option-worthy, its kindof a good-idea-or-not-good-idea kindof thing. From Microsoft putting it in all of their recent OS's, probably lends itself closer to "good idea" i suppose <img src="http://images.stardock.com/wc/smiles/Ew.gif" border=0 alig

Koasati: WinCustomize, no. weather1.sdcentral.net, yes. And if that were to go down, weather2.sdcentral.net, etc. That's where the new weather module connects to to get its data. The deal is, we've partnered with AccuWeather to get our data in a completly legal and better controled way. The other side of it though is we have to host the service for providing data that they upload to us every hour, and we're ironing out some kinks, but it's been going for a month or so now and has been working ov

DigiCHET: Shouldn't need a code, you should be able to type in the location AccuWeather recognizes and it should show up. Given we did have some problems early on with missing locations...even places like Berlin weren't matching up :S Hoping this is closer to cleared up though. Update on your problem Zubas, I installed Trillian so that I could reproduce and was able to 100%. Tried some things and think I found a workaround, but again hoping that more problems don't arise with "funk

Just the kindof stuff we were looking for Thanks for the reports - the flashing bit fixed for the next refresh. Had to redesign the taskbar functionality due to Vista's UAC and that piece got messed...it would "flash" whenever the title of a window changed. Should be refreshing tomorrow Zubaz - able to reproduce the losing of the window at all? That's odd that it would move...ObjectDock never moves the wi

bobbyhundreds: London, United Kingdom seems to work here Using AccuWeather now for our feed so try looking up your location there and giving it a shot back in the docklet.

The v1.6 Beta it up! Grab it on Stardock Central (v1.58[b].008 on SDC, released 4/2/07 - you'll need "Show pre-release versions" checked at bottom to see it) I think this is going to be a really great release - let me know what you think about it or if you run into troubles. Excited to hear what people think about the new features -Jeff

JRSCCivic98: the new v1.01 resolves that as well. These cache files would of cours always be removed upon an uninstall, but previously it didn't delete unused parts of the cache in a timly manner. Starting with this new release, the cache area that DeskScapes maintains automatically clears itself after a couple days of not using a given Dream

Just posting to let everyone know that an update to ObjectDock Plus is coming soon! We're going to be doing an alpha preview of the next version within the next few days that has many new features and improvements, including: Brand new improved weather docklet with a really-cool flyout for the 5-day forecast Live-thumbnails and super-smooth-never-flashes-on-finish minimizing/restoring animations on Vista, that don't mess with your system/hide windows on you/etc. (zooming

By the way, a tip I should add...if you hold click when you're clicking on a folder in a flyout, it will open it up rather than continue to fly it out. I guess if I don't add that "stop levels" option I should at least make a note about that somewhere!

Hi Vince, Not at this time, though I'm hoping to be able to improve it so you can do so. Best Regards, -Jeff Bargmann ObjectDock Developer

Hi jimmy - yeah sorry that isn't possible at the moment. My best bet for you would be to rig it somehow...e.g. have a 2nd tabbed dock or zoomer dock, have that reserve the edge, and have that take up the exact size you want it to. From there if you back away the tabbed dock from the edge by a pixel, it won't autohide, and you'll have basically the same effect. More advanced drag & drop isn't possible yet such as dropping on to folders on the dock, I'm hoping to get more advanced fu

Some help to those who's existing Dreams weren't automatically moved over for them! Try the following: Open up the run dialog, enter in the following and press enter: "%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Stardock\DeskScapes\Dreams" This will take you to the old place Dreams were stored. (That above path is equivalent to your "C:\ProgramData\Stardock\DeskScapes\Dreams" where "C:\" is the drive Vista is installed onto) Do the same with the following: "%HOMEPATH%\Documents\Stardock
