I have been using WB since maybe as early as 1999. Since before the records of purchases on this site. In 2004 I was already a renewing Object Desktop subscriber. I have belonged to Wincustomize as long as I was aware of it. I am user #64 for heaven sake. The wait has been excruciating but I already renewed my sub even without WB 10 because I know it will be good when it comes and because I support this company. Thank you all for your work and creativity.

I think I wet myself.
I actually did a clean install of Windows 10. Then installed WB8 to test. But as soon as I uninstalled it the vertical taskbar issue went away.
Yes, I know Windows 10 is not supported. But I wanted to report this very interesting side effect of installing Windowblinds on Win 10. I use a vertical taskbar to the left side of my dual monitor configuration. After installing Windowblinds and rebooting that taskbar slowly began to increase in width until it filled the entire left side monitor, before stopping. Locking or unlocking the taskbar had no effect. There was nothing I could do bu uninstall, or make it horizontal. </p
ZFixed it. The SIG.BIN was under ProgramData and not the Program Files location as the rror indicated.
I am trying to install CursorFX 2.16 and though it installed fine and did not error out when I activate, on reboot it generates an error that the product appears to be valid but the machine SID doesn't match. The sig.bin does not exist in the folder listed in the error. in fact I cannot find he sig.bin on the machine anywhere.
Seriously, thanks Zubaz, I actually didn't know.
Thanks for the link and idea. So far I have not used the gadget, preferring to keep 64-bit sidebar. But I may try it to see how much success I get. Thanks again...
Stardock will get us the updated compatible versions of their programs as soon as they can. Windows 7 compatibility is, I suspect, one of their top priorities. Emails like the "petition" for programs to be released are not appropriate, nor are they at all helpful. Geez people give them time to do the work needed to make things compatible with a new beta fo Windows that has some obvious low level changes to the architecture directly related to many of the Stardock programs such as Windowblinds
It appears the issue with Logon Studio lies in a problem with x64 Vista and Win 7, But there is a work around available.
Not so much as far as I can see. I just did an inplace upgrade of Windows 7 over my Vista x64. I had to completely disable Windowblinds otherwise no programs would open. Now before you go assailing me with "its beta' I know that. I've been beta testing applications on Windows since 3.0 shipped so I understand. I'm not asking for help I'm trying to inform. So far I have found that Bootskin Vista nad LogonStudio don't work either. I haven't yet isolated if the newer UAC has something to
Just a quick question: Up on Betanews/Fileforum there is a download posted very recently for WB 5.51.097. However when I run SDC this version is not listed and 5.51.025 is the newest pre-release version. Just for curiosity's sake anyone know the scoop on this "discrepency"?
I have discovered an annopying issue that occurs whenever I try to run Vista Sidebar. If I have any WB skin loaded, except for the default Windows Aero, the Sidebar is gray. I installed Sidebar Styler to see if it would make a difference and alas no change. This doesn't seem to be skin dependent in that only Aero stops the problem. I'm running WB 5.5 latest build, newest Sidebar Styler, vista Ultimate, and Nvidia driver is 165.01.
It looks like it is now working I did have to reboot with everything enabled to get it back to running but for now I am ok. Neil, as always thanks for your help.
I did a system restore point from this morning and it seems to have brought back the flip3d with Aero loaded, but once I load WB I lose the flip3d again.
My directx log file shows an install or update of Directx 9 components at about 7 PM Sunday 3/11. I would think however that the flip3d would us DX10/presentation foundation functions.
It is not working. Though it was just a couple of days ago.

Every time I try to load either a Dream or Desk sceen/scape I get an error saying that they are only compatible with Aero. This was all working sort of, but I recently removed and re-installed vbecause I can only run an animated background for a few minutes before explorer crashes. While trying to figure out what was going on I discovered the install list showed two versions of the Microsoft engine one with a KB number and one from before the "official" preview was released. I remove ev
AH-HA! Fixed it. Even though Aero was loaded, I went into WBConfig and forced a reload of Windows Aero. The screen flickered and even went to a Win 2K look for a few seconds. Then Aero came back. I then selected a skin, clicked apply and it loaded just fine. Thanks for the ideas everyone. Have a good weekend!
I was using 100 sieries drivers with the Laptop2Go INF but had to roll back because of an incompatibility between a couple of games with the 100 series. But the problem didn't come from that as it was working fine for a couple of days. It was deffinitely to bogus update that broke things. I now have the correct version installed however now nothing ever happens when I click Apply My Settings. No skin, no errors, nothing. I also get an error in SDC the first time I try to instal
I ran SDC this morning and it said I had 5.49f installed even though I was sure I had installed 5.5 release. I went ahead and did a re-install and now WB will not work correctly. I have removed, rebooted, and re-installed several time. I even deleted everything except the skin folders without any success. Interestingly enough when I go to reinstall it wlays shows me 5.49 f beta. Unless I force released versions only. I am running Vista Ultimate x23 and when I install I get a message say
I haven't looked a lot yet, but is there a list of the Object Desktop programs that are, and I guess by inference are not compatible with Windows Vista?
I was searching through email today and ran across the original email from Stardock with my ODNT serial number. I bought my first subscription 17 February 1999. So in two months I will have been an ODNT subscriber for 7 years. Wow, the changes I have seen.
I was just wondering what the plans for 64 bit Vista support for Object Desktop's components were. Anything that can be shared yet?
