Windows 7 x64 and Windowblinds?

Not so much as far as I can see. I just did an inplace upgrade of Windows 7 over my Vista x64. I had to completely disable Windowblinds otherwise no programs would open. Now before you go assailing me with "its beta' I know that. I've been beta testing applications on Windows since 3.0 shipped so I understand. I'm not asking for help I'm trying to inform.

So far I have found that Bootskin Vista nad LogonStudio don't work either. I haven't yet isolated if the newer UAC has something to do with or if even the extra DEP in x64 is stopping things from working. Once i have a chance and time to dig further I will post what I find.

Cursor FX works like a charm. So far Icon Packager is good to go as well, though I did have to reapply after the upgrade.

So over the next few days (the upcoming weekend) I will start uninstalling and reinstalling things to see3 what works and what doesn't. If anyone in Stardock support and/or testing wished to coontact me feel free to do so as I am more than happy to try things and to reports findings. I am not, however running debug symbols and checked build.

Betas of WB supporting Windows 7 are likely to be a few weeks away.

Thanks for the reply Neil.

Big issue with Bootskin. It put my Win7 into a reboot loop that I couldn't evne get out of with safeboot. I had to boot from the DVD, then using the console go in with BCDEDIT and diable the graphic boot. Interstingly enough the standard QUIETBOOT setting did not work. I had to use:

bcdedit /set {default} GRAPHICSMODEDISABLED TRUE

switch instead. Then I could get into Win7 and use Bootskin the restorte the default and everything was alright.

As a good word of advice, I would stay away from using too many of the Object Desktop Apps with Win 7 until we start seeing new betas that have been tested on it.  Right now I don't think any currently available have been tested with Win 7.

good advice, but obviously ignored ;) I tried cursorfx, objectdockplus, both run so far without a hitch. i copied the roaming folder from my vista to my win7 and objectdock came up with my docks flawlessly.

Impulse itself is a bit iffy, has some issues. WB installs fine, skins get applied, even work. But as above noted folders don't get opened and the taskbar/menu is a mess. Applying the windows aero skin from wb resets everything fine. With wb running no issues.

please update wb quickly because the win7 'themes' are ..... fill in a 4letter word of choice

DULL.  That's my choice.

It appears the issue with Logon Studio lies in a problem with x64 Vista and Win 7, But there is a work around available.
