well, damn, not sure how the ini got screwed up, renamed it, started up and the queue was back to where it belonged. not sure I want to delve into the problem tonight, time for bed-ish. Th Thanks.

Latest nvidia drivers, no change. something got changed with the latest patch that doesn't like my pc, but I'm at a loss now.
I also see that no more black holes? Just antimatter sitting around? "normal UI scale"? I have a "gel ui" (unchecked), but nothing that says specifically "normal ui scale". Pretty sure it's a graphics incompatibility, tried windowed/no-windowed, lower res, nothing changed the position. I guess I'll try a new video driver (hate to mess with what has been working with all my other software), but my 1080 ti hasn't had any other issu
Ok, never used Dropbox before, so how is this? https://www.dropbox.com/s/km1qtnyi43t0xqh/test%20case%201.GC3Crusade?dl=0 Yes, do start with a shipyard now, too. Rather have the queue in the right place, tho.
How do I add a file? nothing pops out to me. And yes, I have several different starts/saves from different times yesterday & today.
Re-installed it, started a new game, still have the queue in the upper left corner.
Not yet, but I can. I'll let you know if that worked. Can't make a change to the queue once it's in there, either. Bleh, I hate the "new" interface on Steam, Can't just make a list of my installed games now, have to apply a damn filter and apply it every time you open steam. But validate did find four files to fix, so maybe that was it. Edit: Nope, got the updates ok, but still have the queue in the upper left corner. Ma
I started up a new game today after a couple of weeks, and couldn't find the upgrade queue for my planet in it's new place next to the list of choices, it was moved to the upper left corner of the page, took me a while to find it since it overlay the graphic and was hard to see (no mods enabled; ver 3.96).
Quoting pkaski, reply 58There's a special place in hell for companies that have 2 betas at once, you know.................................. pek And wat 2 betas would those be ? on a more related note, finally we get a decent opening cinematic from you guys rather than the original one. always nice to see a mock of of the in-game action
There's a special place in hell for companies that have 2 betas at once, you know.................................. pek
Been working the FE beta, now you give me sins! I have a big obligation to hit the sins beta hard, but I've been enjoying the fe, too. Damn it, Brad..................................... My weekend just went away. Hell, taking today off work, now. pek
This is alot of the appeal to this game. That and the hot Advent chicks.
I'm still in lust with the voice of the domina subjugator. Of course, the name goes with the voice, now that I reflect on it. Regardless, I play the Advent a lot just so I can hear her voice. pek
When you start your game, (new game), there is a button for game options. There you will find quick start, fast income, fast build speed, etc. Also, if URa newb, turn off pirates until you get the hang of the game. Pick a small system and lock your ally(s) in to start off. And, you can make your enemies (and ally's) dumber or smarter, too. TEC will start faster with more money, but peak early. There are a number of threads (search strategy) outlining how to
Impulse will normally make the decisions for you, no matter which one you click to update first. It will update Sins first if needed, them Entrenchment. pek
After an enemy surrenders, their remaining planets can be in rebellion. If you look at the forces, they will normally say rebel force xxxx rather than the old ai name, like in the initial stages of the game. Except that there can be one huge fleet of rebels with advanced ships. pek
Indeed, it seems a lot of people on these forums communicate by grunts and growls. By choice, it seems. Of course, some can't do it any other way. pek
You don't want to try to defend a star itself, it's way to slow to move around in unless you just park a lot of carriers there and let squadrons do the fighting, but then, the carriers are pretty weak by themselves. Stars have a very limited number of ways into your planets, sometimes only one, and usually one of the ways in is covered by a very well fortified pirate base. Fortify the planets to make choke points with the small-ish fleet to back up the fixed defenses. The only weak point then
Fleets are biased towards offense, they project power. You can still create a large fleet or two for conquest and fortify the planets around the star with a smaller mobile force to back the local defenses. And you obviously haven't seen what can happen with wormholes, they can go from star system to star system and they are usually far, far from the star itself, giving back-door access to star systems a lot quicker than the phase lane travel from the central star. pek
Do you maybe mean the "alt+left click" to select a class of ships? You can also do that and add them to a "ctl + number" fleet group to give them different orders from the main fleet. I do that with squadrons to do things like attack the fixed guns. Let the main fleet hang back and use the squads to get rid of the things that don't have the defenses against them. Pardon if someone has answered this, I gave up reading on page 9, the page your post is on. I wish the forums had a kill
Actually, Ironclad wrote the game. There are dozens of threads containing strategy written and disected to an exhaustive detail, with changes as new versions come out. I suggest you read those threads before you complain about not having time to work out a strategy. Most of those posters have no life (I include myself there), so there are thousands and thousands of hours of experience there that YOU do not have to get the hard way. Plus, the devs get involved in the threads and chang
Also, you can re-capture nutral extractors that enemies may have captured. Of course, your enemy can capture YOUR extractors. pek
Yeah, wasn't there a scandal with the Ponies, Eeets and Yarlen? After one wild night? pek
It IS possible if you have multiple AI's and team them up with each other. I've tested things that way, I could check how things progress while the AI's beat on each other. Use the large maps, lock teams and divide the AI's up as you want. Make sure you are on one of the stronger teams, so you can have them protect you. You can also use your credits to sic the pirates on whoever you want. pek
Me too!!!! :CONGRAT: pek
Last I heard from sales, the beta's can get the colectors edition for the cost of shipping. Don't know what the cut-off will be, that's what I was told when I asked about the collectors edition for those of us who ordered before they announced the goodies. YMMV. pek
