Two issues at work here - one is there's some sort of resource bug going on, spawning too many resources in close proximity (see: https://forums.stardock.com/393225 ) The other being that even though I was trying to avoid exploiting the AI this time (no tactical combat cheese, no custom sovereign), it still insisted on suiciding it's sovereign against my defenses. In one case, it attacked a stack inside a city I had just taken with JUST

No, it's not just luck - I played dozens of games of 1.05 and never saw this happen, I've started up several games of 1.06 and seen absurd resource density near my starting spawn edit: case in point, just started a game now:

Hard world, Hard AI difficulty, Medium size world Still too easy, conquest victory, though could have been alliance pretty easily had I bothered. The whole sovereign dying causing insta-loss thing has to go, it's just too easy to abuse against the AI. Take nearby city, kill sov, empire eliminated. This was also without using a cheesy custom hero - I just used one of the bog standard ones (Ceresa) and an Empire faction. On the upshot - no crashes. On the

Not sure I'm a fan of hit rolls on spells. Spells consume MP which currently regenerates at 1 mp a turn, so the actual cost of a single damaging spell is very high in comparison to a simple attack by any constructed unit in the game. Spells need to be 'imbalanced' for them to be worth using, and missing with your MP investment of 2-10 turns to deal damage in comparison to the ability to summon up a new troop or teleport across the entire map isn't a great tradeoff.

With the difficulty cranked up too :/ In just about 100 turns :\ Against 7 AIs :| I didn't even build my starting city, I just set out immediately looking for enemies to conquer, while researching Warfare techs once I took a city, then building troops in captured settlements. This actually turns the strength of higher difficulty AI against them, as you acquire more developed cities than you could build yourself! edit: It's also broken because each fight you wi

You're asking for something at total cross purposes. So you want a challenge, but you don't want a challenge from the AI? Either the AI threatens you or it doesn't, you can't have it both ways. If Easy is too Easy, put some AI to normal and some to easy, tinker with the world size, the map difficulty, the number of AI in the game. Research diplomacy techs and invest in alliances with the AI. If you want a peaceful builder game, give something like Anno 1404/Dawn of Discovery a

Having little armies of soldiers looks ok for the smaller groups, but in the larger groups, they start to look really goofy, as they all clip over one another. There should probably be a maximum number of models per stack, depending on their size. This is particularly noticable when you have a giant squad (flight?) of Dragons:

It seems that if you send out the caravan with escorts to begin with, those escorts will stay with the caravan from then on. Or at least they seem to. I'm not sure if there's a way to add new escorts to caravans later. I dislike the caravan system a lot, it's annoying that they did a very smart and cool thing by getting rid of 'workers', but then put in caravans to manage :/ Truthfully, just managing caravans isn't _too_ bad early in the game, but with the way the UI is, it's

There isn't one - basically, grab every important resource you see in sight, that's the path to victory. The way the resource system works, nearly all buildings that you unlock through research provide modifiers to the base income, and without a resource attached to the city, most of those base income levels will be 1 or 0. You can't boost food production without a food resource to boost, same for metal (and I'm not even sure if there are any crystal boosters

I played a game through on Normal/Hard and won easily, but I think I had too few AI in the game (4). I'm still fooling with the difficulty level, but yeah, given the monster behavior, leaving world difficulty at Normal (or even dropping it to Easy) and upping AI difficulty to at least Challenging is a good idea if you're even remotely experienced as a TBS player.

You regenerate health while resting in a city (hit V to eject all people from a city quickly) Unfortunately there's no quick or easy way to see if a whole 'group' has healed, you have to mouse over each unit. To trade, go to the actions pane and click the trade button, you can swap items to any heroes in the same stack.

1) Enhance spells of that element, I think they give a slight Essence boost to your heroes, and, if you get one of each type and dump about 3284234234 points into Arcane Research and get spell level 10, allow you to cast the Spell of Mastery Making and win the game 2) I think these are set to either your int or your wis? As in, maximum total number you can maintain simultaneously. 3) Mydocs/mygames/elemental/screensh

Some perspective for you: If you filter out the white noise of sycophants and trolls, remember that most gamers posting just want to play Elemental and have fun with it. At the end of the day, that should be all that really matters.

I think I'd like to see them tune the combat in such a way that each action matters more, so you have quicker tactical combat resolution - but almost any change would be an improvement over 'miss miss miss' (particularly since the game lacks a combat speed slider right now, I find the tac combat really painful because of the slow movement/combat animations, the 'missing' just exacerbates the problem)

I've seen this complaint come up a few times - basically, 1MP a turn is too little to power any sort of long term spell heavy strategy with your Sovereign. This is quite true, and I think it's something that probably needs to be addressed, but however they change it, I can't see MP ever being an unlimited resource, unless they heavily tinker with the power of strategic and tactical spells (or possibly separate the mana pools they utilize). In any case, with the game now, here's what y

The campaign is almost mislabelled. It's more like a glorified tutorial. If you go in expecting some sort of epic lengthy adventure, you'll be sorely disappointed. I went through it in a few hours total, autobattled my way to victory, then moved on to custom games.

That was on Normal world difficulty, and there were plenty of spawn points, two empires had been wiped out and large parts of the map were uncolonized. The ENTIRE map was covered with monsters, and the respawn rate is completely ridiculous - even with a superfast, instakilling hero stack, I was unable to clear out any area, they'd just respawn right on top of me. And yes, it is an XP farm - an abusable one, because I could level up any random hero I picked up to 10+ in just a few turn
