Thanks, Basj. ExplorerMax has a dual pane, timeline view, batch rename and some other stuff. Each program has features the other would benefit from.

That's got it, Basj. I didn't even have to create a new folder. I already had one in my Start Menu with the icons in it. Drag and drop to Desktop. Nice. Thanks!
I have a lifetime license to ExplorerMax, a tabbing program for Windows Explorer. As near as I can tell, it is a separate app which pulls the functionality of Explorer into itself, so that (for example) Quick Access is available, but the toolbar is quite different. I also own Groupy, but I quit using it when I got ExplorerMax. I miss a feature that Groupy has and ExplorerMax does not; that is the ability to drag a file from an open tab to another tab and have it copy over. With Explor
I have a number of CAD-oriented programs which I use frequently, and would like to gather their icons together in one fence. Unfortunately, the default Programs fence grabs them out as soon as I drag them into the new CAD fence I created for them. Since they all are executables, I'm at a loss how to "sort and organize" the fence so that the correct programs sort past Programs and into it. I suppose I could include "CAD" in each filename, as a few already have it anyway, and sort by name ("The
That seems to have worked. I did the purge, rebooted, and downloaded Deskscapes from my products page. This was listed under Object Desktop Manager as 10.02, but after installation the About page shows 10.03. I went through the same process as before, installing a background, applying it to my monitors, then switching to another and deleting the one I downloaded. This time it behaved as expected with no freezing.
I have DeskScapes 10.03. Recently it has taken to freezing when I make changes. I screen-captured the latest occurrence. The sequence of events was this: I downloaded "Spring Scape" and applied it to both monitors. That's it displayed in the "Selected" pane at top. Decided I didn't like it. Switched tabs from "Online" to "Local". Selected "Jungle Moon" and applied it to both monitors. Notice "Jungle Moon" is the title displayed at top.<
Groupy co-opts Explorer's menu item "Open in new window", so that the new instance opens in a tab. Often, I want the window separate, so I grab the tab after it appears and drag it off. Rather than changing the action of the existing menu item, I request that you create your own menu item which more accurately says, "Open in new tab", and leave the other as it is, opening in a new window.
Thanks, Sean. Next time I have to use Multiplicity, I will do this to see if it helps. I look forward to using a MP which doesn't need anything to be changed, even on the first secondary. Good to know it's in testing.
Once again I herded my ragtag group of secondaries into the room with the primary. Firing up Multiplicity on each, I began with my duties, and once again I encountered strange behavior... certainly not what I was expecting! Then, once again it came to me: because I'm left-handed and have my mouse on the left side of the computer, I have the buttons reversed. My primary button is the right. And Multiplicity is incapable of dealing with that. It's hard-coded to assume the left button. And so wh
Thanks. I've raised a ticket. Appreciate your help.
Yes, I still need assistance. The link you gave me deals with getting my products and keys. I'm not trying to do that. I'm just trying to insure that my account email has been changed to the new one. When I look at my account I still see the old email.
Yesterday I changed my account email. When I submitted the form I was told that I was being sent an email for verification. I still have access to both old and new addresses, and never got a verification email at either one. I don't know that this is imperative, but I thought it might cause the account email to revert if I don't click on a link, or something like that.
I finally got around to actually going through the motions of disabling Multiplicity's autostart, and discovered that it doesn't start that way, anyway. I had to set "Multiplicity Service" startup type to Manual. I think this makes the autostart switch a little more desirable, as I'd guess there are plenty of users who know about Autoruns but not about modifying service settings.
Hi, dev people. I don't see "Feature Requests" thread, so just posting it here. I don't need Multiplicity on a daily basis. It's more a case of nonstop use for a few days, then no use for three weeks, then nonstop again. I looked for a "Start Multiplicity when Windows Starts" checkbox in the Options, but did not find it. I know how to use Autoruns, and Startup in Task Manager, and a dozen other ways to enable/disable autostart, but I would prefer to be doing it through the app
I just noticed that WindowBlinds doesn't affect the headers for Fences groups. That was surprising, since Stardock makes both. It would be a great feature to add in future.
Thanks, everyone. I didn't want to go into a lot of detail with that post, so I just generalized saying I wanted to turn off the changes. Actually, I found out that the changes I wanted to un-change were by WindowBlinds. I got both programs at the same time, along with CursorFX and IconPackager, and there's a lot of overlap as to which does what. Kind of like a kid at Christmas unwrapping different Legos sets, or something. Anyway, the issue I had was with Thunderbird email client. Th
Deskscapes works fine for me. I love it. There are times when I need to turn it off and run without all its changes. I expected to find a simple switch somewhere in its configuration controls, but if it's there, I'm blind to it. I don't want to uninstall it. Just be able to turn it off and on as I choose. It must be easy to do, or surely someone else would have asked before me. If it's right there in plain sight, feel free to laugh at me. How can I do this? In case it ma
To answer your question: yes, from a technical aspect, switching the secondary computer's mouse setting to "Left" works. Thank you, Sean. I appreciate the tone of your response. Any curtness in my posts is because this issue was known in 2013, and yet it is still present in the 2020 version, in software for which I paid money on the assumption that I was buying thoroughly tested and debugged professional quality product. I'm a long-time customer of Stardock. I purchased Start8
While the workaround may be inconvenient, and not plausible for you long term, does it work to resolve the issue?
Of course not. The machines are set to left-handed use because I use all of them in person. They are for different purposes and are configured differently, with different accessories and paraphernalia around them. Multiplicity is for the purpose of doing things such as installations and updates that need to
I use a left-handed setup, in which the right mouse button is the primary. This is so on all three of my machines. When I use Multiplicity, the primary button is being switched to left on the secondary machine. There is a previous thread on this issue, dating from 2013. I posted it in the "Links" field above. No resolution is presented. The response from, apparently, MP Support is: "Disabling the option on the secondary wo
Hi. I'm using Windows 10, but have owned Fences since back when Start8 came out. I've installed Fences several times, and have noticed that it always has an autostart instruction in the registry in both Current User and Local Machine. This isn't a problem, I'm just curious as to why it's that way. I'm not aware of anything I'm doing during setup that would cause it, so I assume it's by design. Someone?
Thank you, DaveRI. I tried that, and it seemed to work for the folder layout. The first article you cited, "How do I use snapshots in Fences?", leaves a lot for the reader to figure out on his own--like that there are three files to be copied over for each one snapshot, and that the files are not named according to their titles as displayed in "Layout and snapping". So for instance, the snapshot I created was displayed as "11/16/2015". But down in the folder the name o
I'm using Fences 2.13 on a laptop, a tablet and an all-in-one. Windows 10 on all three. I'm about to set it up on a desktop running Win8, soon to be upgraded to 10. My configuration is the same on all of these, and it would be so nice to export it on one machine and import it on another. I've looked for documentation of such a feature but haven't found it. Over on the Start10 forum, ianhorse asked, <a href="https://forums.stardock.com/47193
