ExplorerMax and Groupy

...will they work together?

I have a lifetime license to ExplorerMax, a tabbing program for Windows Explorer. As near as I can tell, it is a separate app which pulls the functionality of Explorer into itself, so that (for example) Quick Access is available, but the toolbar is quite different. I also own Groupy, but I quit using it when I got ExplorerMax.

I miss a feature that Groupy has and ExplorerMax does not; that is the ability to drag a file from an open tab to another tab and have it copy over. With ExplorerMax I have to use right-click, Copy, tab over, right-click, Paste.

I'm hesitant to install Groupy with EM already in place. I will do it in order to see what happens if necessary, but I'm hoping someone else has done so and can warn me off if chaos ensues.

Can they work together?

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. I have installed ExplorerMax, and I don't see any problem in running it with Groupy running. Just that once you use ExplorerMax, Explorer no longer group for Groupy. I did a very short test, uninstalled it, don't see the advantage over Groupy.

Thanks

Thanks, Basj. ExplorerMax has a dual pane, timeline view, batch rename and some other stuff. Each program has features the other would benefit from.
