Below is an issue I've had with every version of Fences and it drives me nuts. I have a laptop and a 2nd screen above the laptop. I've set my fences on the second screen but after a couple of days they migrate back to the laptop screen. Is there some way to fix this? option 1: Fence portals are recorded per screen and if that screen is not plugged in then the fences are not rendered. option 2: fence portals migrate to main screen if the second screen is not</stro
Another two ideas [e digicons]:D[/e] It'd be nice to manually set the fence size in both pixel and screen percentage. Would make setting up fences a little easier and you could guarantee equal sized fences would fit as expected Breadcrumbs..... No idea how you could do it neatly. Below is a a screen recording from Solid Explorer (Android file browser) where it works well. https://streamable.com/4q9dq
Fair enough😁. No harm in wishing. Cheers
I've been using Fences for years and really appreciate the work that was put in to make it happen. The 4 quirks below would be great if they could be implemented! (all fences portal related) Better multi-monitor support. I use two monitors, external monitor above laptop screen. Both have fences but from time to time all fences get mushed together on the laptop screen. Restoring from a backup sometimes restores them to the correct screen, but not always. A fix that's
I asked about this ages ago and was but I was advised that they can't do anything about it as it is set by Microsoft. It seems to crop up in many threads. Until today I accepted this. However, I noticed that when I restore a backup, any subfolders I changed to details, since the original backup date, went back to icon view. This leads me to believe that the info is accessible by Fences and is included in their backups. There is no reason that this can't be set by default
Hi Basj, Cheers for the reply. I tried the relevant options in the linked posts to no avail. However, when I restore from a backup my potals go to the correct screens. Is there some way to powershell/cmd script a restore?
It would be great if Fences would remember fences setup for multi monitors so that fence portals for the second monitor only show up when it is connected and don't get moved to the main screen when disconnected.
+1..... I would like to set all portals to have details view for portal and all subfolders
