Hey, I was able to update start8 today for windows 8.1. The start menu is now back to windows 7 style. I'm not sure about all the settings, but I don't want to change anything yet, the windows 8 start screen was really annoying for me. Thanks for fixing the update!
I am running windows 8.1. I have had numerous window updates in the last month. My original Start8 download was 1.11. It worked perfect on this machine until recently. The windows 7 start button and access to windows style7 start menu suddenly disappeared. When opening Start8, I get a compatibility error message from windows. I tried several changes in the start8 configuration menu to get it back to no avail. I than tried
Opps, definitely operator error. Sorry I looked again more carefully and found I actually had the wrong selection in the control menu. I am very pleased with this software. Thanks for the help.
Thanks for your response. I do have those options selected correctly, but the windows 8 start screen still opens when I hit the start button. The menu worked correctly yesterday, but I attempted to change a couple of other settings and lost the windows 7 style menu and can't get it back.
