Many thanks for your support. As I heard StartAllBack, which is installed on my laptop, I disabled it and reinstalled Fences. Maybe just reinstalling one more time would solve the issue… but when I restarted my laptop, the option was there, and I can exclude icons from quick-hide now. Thank you again to all of you who responded. Keep it up.

There is nothing about Fences in the context menu.
Right click the icon>Show more options>Exclude this icon from Fences' quick-hide
Many thanks for responding. I do not have this option now. It was there in Fences 4.
In Fences 5 there is no option to exclude an icon from being hidden. Has the feature been removed, please? "Exclude from hiding" does not appear in Context Menu. This was very practical. You could keep only one or two icons on your desktop with that option. Could someone lend a helping hand? Thank you in advance.
Yes, I understand. I have not tried system restore. I back up my files. I will monitor the desktop closely. Thank you for your help, Basj. All the best.
It must be Windows, then...
Only folders and icons are spared... This is why I have thought of Fences...as I use it always to "clean" my desktop. The files and documents are not in my Recycle Bin, either. I have seen another thread with the same issue, but it has no conclusion. That is why I started this one.
I have OneDrive but it is not synchronizing my desktop and the files are not there.
Hello Basj, Thank you for responding. No. Not a trace. I forgot to mention that documents too disappeared.
Hi, Today, all the files in my desktop have disappeared. I tried to find one, a pdf, using Quick Search ((Glarysoft). The program showed the presence of the file on my desktop, but just for a little while. When I clicked on the file, it just disappeared. I would be grateful if somebody could provide some help. Fortunately I had backed up the files, but does this mean I can no longer store files in my desktop?
Hello, I can't reproduce your issues on my system. I noticed, when you set groupy to "Always on top", you drag your windows on the groupy "tab bar" instead of the actual titlebar. Which I believe is causing the issue. Please try dragging on the actual titlebar and see if it helps. Reduced 66% <img src="https://cdn.stardock.us/fo
I am really sorry for my impatience. You are right. Great! I have been using the software for almost two years and had always used it well before. I don't know how I changed the way of using it.
There was a problem with the first link. I am sorry. Check this one, please: Side by side does not work
Here is the video: Side by side does not work There was a problem with the other link. I am sorry.
Hello, I don't see any means of uploading a screen cast here.
Hello, Thank you for responding. Whom do you think I should contact to find some help for this issue? For your reply provides no help at all. First, I contacted Support. They told me to post my issue here. Now, I get an answer that you could not reproduce the issue. As for me, I am still experiencing it.
Side by side of Microsoft Windows (I mean Explorers) does not work when Groupy is ON and " Always place above " is the chosen setting. Programs can be placed side by side but File Explorers cannot. Provide some help, please. I am using Windows 10 Pro 1909 Groupy is up-to-date. Thank you.
I know your plight, I have been there. Stardock could not find a solution to my issue and asked me to choose another program from their products. It would be great if they proposed this solution to all the users having these Windows explorer crashes. There is a problem with Fences 2, let us be honest. This is a so old issue.
Windows Explorer crashing with Fences is still an issue!!? Let us be honest, why don't the programers find a patch to solve this issue which is standing the test of time?! Why can't we say the truth to the people?! I will start a blog somewhere to denounce this way of fooling people. And you have the guts to be rude to users too!!!
Hi Rob, It's great that you posted this. I too had found that whenever I moved or copied things through the Fences I encountered several annoying Windows Explorer's crashes. The crashes are really annoying - you have to struggle to get everything working well again. If a solution isn't found soon I shall request a refund. Anyway, many thanks for sharing this. Joseph.
I have contacted Support several times and I am still waiting for a genuine answer. There seems to be always an excuse or other means to deter users from complaining for real problems they are facing. Sometimes you are insulted, sometimes you are told to wait (yes, but there could be a time frame)... I have a friend who was trying Fences 2 and who was almost unable to use his computer because of constant Windows Explorer's crashes. He could only have peace when Fences was uninstal
Anyway, thank you for your kind and wonderful way of trying to help.
Does your coming here to say that Fences works on your PC solve the issue that other users are facing? This is how it goes, then: it works for some, so there is no problem at all?...
Yes, when will be there be a solution to this issue? Some users have given up asking for a solution to the crashes, I believe.
Hello astrixoblix , I understand your plight but I do not have a real answer about the crashes for you. I too am waiting for a solution from the support service. Sometimes I have a long pause till the crashes resume. And for the time being, I am relaxing for Fences is behaving so well. According to me it is because I keep Aero theme on. I used to disable it while on ba
