I am wondering: Could disabling Aero theme and then re-enabling it cause a mess with Fences? Do you have any idea about this?

Thanks, I had found out.
Explorer crashed several times again while I restarted Windows. Could it be due to the installation of new programs? I am guessing... I installed the following updates the past days: 1) Update for Windows 7 (KB2762895) Installation date: 12/02/12 08:07 Installation status: Successful Update type: Recommended Install this update to resolve a set of known application compatibility issues with Windows. We know that Fences is doing it. Instead of asking such a question, let us try to find a solution to the issue. Many users of Fences have this problem. No one wants to bother or disturb you. We just want a solution to a problem. Thank you for understanding this.
By the way, is there a new Fences, version 2.02 ( https://forums.stardock.com/437757 )? I checked in my Downloads but I still see 2.01.
You are welcome hexfield. I have no network shared folders. However, as I told in a post in another thread I had problems with Fences when I moved or copied things through the fences (a supporter of Fences would not admit what I HAD experienced, he knew much better than me, anyway...) I also experienced the endless green bar progress - where you do not see any icons in explorer because it takes too long to load; this is sometimes due to corrupted thumbnails. I used several tune up progra
Hi Hexfield, To stop the prompts you must go in the properties of Fences through the icon in start menu (or on your Desktop) where you changed the option to Administrator. Reinstalling does not remove the Administrator's privileges. Like you I am waiting for a solution to the frequent Explorer crashes. I had had a rather long respite, but yesterday they restarted. Good luck.
Thanks Zubaz.
It seems that in the Stardock forums, instead of trying to help, some are there to make fun of people having real problem using the Stardock software. Please, a little decency and decorum. We bought the applications and we are looking for real answers to the issues we have with them. If you have no solutions to the problems we posted, do not get angry and begin to insult or make fun of others. Where did you learn these behaviors? Human beings matter more than a program. They bought the progra
What Support are you talking about?! I have written to them many days ago and I am waiting. Hope some day I get an answer. So, we are are trying to help one another in this forum. Let Support rest while we are wrestling with our computers.
I just observed that on my computer. Each time I used TuneUp Utilities 13 or other programs to help solve the crashes it showed a fragmented disk - I had only copied or moved objects through the Fences and not elsewhere. So I concluded that Fences fragmented my disk. Several times a day I have had to defragment my disk, but when I do not use Fences I do not have to defrag a thing. So...
Fences seems to cause a lot of fragmentation. This is why the crashes and slowing down of your system happen. In a day you have to defragment your your hard drive several times to have some respite from Fences. Or you have to install a real-time defragmenter...
Hello, I am still waiting for a satisfying solution to the issue mentioned above. Here or in my mail inbox.
I have 2GB RAM and I use programs like Nero, Adobe Acrobat, and many others without any problem. It's only with Fences that I have this problem.
For the time being, windows explorer crashes each time I restart my computer. There is an improvement, before it was unbearable. However Stardock should find a solution to this.
After I installed some new updates from Microsoft it seems that the problem has disappeared. (I had uninstalled Fences and when I found the updates, I installed them and reinstalled Fences.) I hope it's for good. @martyxx56: Windows 7 Ultimate, 32 bit, Intel Atom N550, Asus Eee PC, which I use to browse the internet and work - so my desktop is often cluttered with documents, folders, etc. Fences 2 is the ideal solution. I had dreamed of such a program for months and then some week
As for me I am still waiting. Hope I get a satisfying answer before the next version of Fences.
I think that the trouble begins when you have moved (or copied) something from one fence to another. I wonder if thumbnails get corrupted after something is moved.
Hello, I thought the problem was solved by using Fences with exclusions i Kaspersky but it persists.
Hello, I have been struggling to find a solution to this issue: Fences 2 causes Windows Explorer to crash. I have contacted the support service, but I am still waiting. I have uninstalled the program because the situation did not improve. What is the next move, please? Here is my Ticket ID: XQV-247-32946 <p style="text-align: just
Hello, I have removed Fences 2 for a while because the problem with Windows Explorer had become unbearable - crashes had become so frequent. I would be grateful if you could post some suggestions about this issue. I have contacted support and I think they are doing something to solve this problem but it is quite slow. Thank you for allowing me to write something here.
