Thank you very much. That will work for now. I am hoping they fix the tech trading between AI issue. I am not sure what causes it because it only happens sometimes, and I think more frequently on large maps.
It's possible the calculation is buggy, but here's another idea. It's possible that it's working as designed. It's possible that the 10% worth of research points that we
Yes, a movement indicator is really needed. It has been asked for a lot on the forums.
This is a game breaking bug for me. I can not play unless this is fixed.
Is there any simple modification I can make the prevent research trading entirely? I play with lots of AIs and having them with 20k+ knowledge is not fun.
Has this been fixed yet? My current game, which is the newest patch, has all the AI with 15,000 or 20,000 in civics research and hundreds in the others.
I would recommend checking out the ecomental mod.
I have been playing on hard and the AI crush me in research. I feel I expanded really fast in my current game and am doing really well all in all, but half the AI is twice my points in the faction power rating and their research is well past mine. What do people use as a rule of thumb ratio for towns to fortress to conclaves? I normally go something like 6 towns for 1 fortress and 1 conclave. Also, what type of tile is best for a concl
I had the same issue (my rights were not revoked I don't think) where I could only post from Stardock forum, but someone fixed it for me when I posted about it. Looks like from the above post that maybe your reason is different. =D
If you use the snaking mod you can snake and then build.
Quoting Sentinemodo, reply 1 I'd go ahead with giving and equipping all champions/sovereigns FOR FREE the best armor/weapon/mount/equipment available for them automatically the moment they get new tech on above challenging difficulty. Nobody is going to notice the gildars costs anyway. I disagree with this. Auto upgrading without cost IMO 1. Limits options 2. Makes things too easy.
<p
I can't play like the OP, though I guess I wish I could. I would not have fun abusing/exploiting spells like Paragon in that manner. I am of the opinion those spells are broken and need to be fixed/balanced. Sounds like he had fun with this game though, so good for him.
Why does it have to be easy ways? Is there not a middle ground between 2 point trait and impossible?
Yeah, I prefer having less settling spots, but better spots, so I have fewer overall cities, but those cities are productive and useful.
Download the Ecomental mod.
Lore pack would be great. Just about anything that adds content, complexity, replayability, and depth is good for me. Just try and ensure balance! I would love more items like weapons, armors, accessories, etc. More spells, monsters, more traits for sovereigns, heroes, and factions.
There should be some other way to gain influence other than a 2 point trait and 1 building in a town that does 1 point per turn. Definitely need a middle ground.
I rarely get to the actual end nowadays since it seems to drag on and I find the first 200 or so turns the most fun.
Design the fabled 4x strategy game that is not this way and you will be rich.
The game is about all about making hard choices... where do want to spend your money? Rushing buildings? Recruiting heroes? Buying equipment? Trading with the AI? They are not going to change the prices. If you want to make a game of non-difficult choices, you can mod or ask one of the modders for a new game.
The only problem is that there is no choice. You just don'
I try the balanced approach, but my dominion eventually expands and I awake the beasts who ravage my cities and I eventually have to restart. I guess my balanced is not quite balanced. =/ Those Skalds or Skiths or whatever they are called are just way too strong for my level 5 sov, champ, and a couple militia.
Some good ideas here to improve this victory condition. As it stands now, I just disable it as well as the quest victory. Domination is the only way.
It is definitely not fixed yet. Every sov in my current game of 20 sovs is an assassin. Pretty shoddy if you ask me, especially since this was pointed out long ago.
I agree. The costs are way too high compared to what it would cost to build the items on normal troops. Money is better spent elsewhere than the outrageous 90 gold for a leather tunic.
My typical experience is that my borders expand and activate the higher level monster that I have been trying to leave alone because he will slaughter me. The monster wanders around for a good 5 or even 15 turns and then eventually attacks (and insta-razes) my city. Anyway, they don't attack right away, even the player cities, or at least that is what I have always found on challenging.
