The game is about all about making hard choices... where do want to spend your money? Rushing buildings? Recruiting heroes? Buying equipment? Trading with the AI? They are not going to change the prices. If you want to make a game of non-difficult choices, you can mod or ask one of the modders for a new game.
The only problem is that there is no choice. You just don'
I try the balanced approach, but my dominion eventually expands and I awake the beasts who ravage my cities and I eventually have to restart. I guess my balanced is not quite balanced. =/ Those Skalds or Skiths or whatever they are called are just way too strong for my level 5 sov, champ, and a couple militia.
Some good ideas here to improve this victory condition. As it stands now, I just disable it as well as the quest victory. Domination is the only way.
It is definitely not fixed yet. Every sov in my current game of 20 sovs is an assassin. Pretty shoddy if you ask me, especially since this was pointed out long ago.
I agree. The costs are way too high compared to what it would cost to build the items on normal troops. Money is better spent elsewhere than the outrageous 90 gold for a leather tunic.
My typical experience is that my borders expand and activate the higher level monster that I have been trying to leave alone because he will slaughter me. The monster wanders around for a good 5 or even 15 turns and then eventually attacks (and insta-razes) my city. Anyway, they don't attack right away, even the player cities, or at least that is what I have always found on challenging.
This was not fixed in 1.1?
Great ideas. Splitting out abilities into more traits and removing or improving the worthless ones is a good idea. IMO, Master scout needs to be plain removed as does Stealth.
Any chance you could copy and paste them here? I can not access the elemental forums at work, only the Stardock forums.
Just wanted to say great thread. I found this enlightening and it helped pass a good two hours of my lagging afternoon at work. =)
It would be nice if the game added active city curses to the city bar opposite the area where city enchantments are located.
Ecomental
I guess you mean how ecomental has less mountains/oceans/chasms? good point but I've been playing with ecomental from almost day 1 and the problem is still very present ( although I guess it'll improve even more once he adds more stamps and removes the bad ones ) game should be balanced around vanilla though. at the very least pioneer need a higher production cost, they're very fast to build right no
I find the ecomental mod gives everyone the ability to expand as they choose. This helps the AI imo and provides a more balanced early game where everyone is much more equal, or has a chance to be more equal given they don't have bad luck. As far as research being an issue. I would like for there to be about double or triple the amount of tech to research and have building times made longer so you had to choose more between pioneers and buildings/improve
The type of person who likes this kind of game is typically more of a nerdy (not in a bad way) intellectual type, and I also imagine most are probably older and more mature. This is not a game for a hyper active low attention span child. Plus I think most here care about the game a lot and want it to be around for a while and grow. Also, the ability to modify the game really helps as people can customize and work together to fix things they do not like or help you out until
Ugh, they need to let you inspect at the time of upgrade. You should be able to minimize, review your empire, and then make a decision.
When a city levels up to level 2 and you have to decide which type of city it will be going forward (Town, Conclave Fortress) is there anyway to inspect your city before making a choice? most times I can not even see where the city is located exactly and am not sure what I would want it to be.
Purchased to support future development of the game in general.
I created my own customer faction that is Tarth blood, and then 3 1 point traits rather than stealth or master scouts. Both stealth and master scout is way over-powered and will only teach you very bad habits imo. Plus they remove a huge aspect of the game. So in my opinion, do not use stock Tarth, and do not include them in your game. What I did this weekend, as a new player myself, was create my custom faction and sovereign above, and then I created an additional 1
Hi, I can post on the stardock forums ( https://forums.stardock.com/forum/1006 ), but I can not create posts or reply on the actual elemental/fallen enchantress forums. Can someone fix this for me? Here is a thread I found with someone having the same issue previously: https://forums.elementalgame.com/390995
Some good ideas from the OP, and I have to say that a "closed borders" option is really needed! They AI can do it to you, but you can not to the AI.
Please keep patching and releasing DLC for this game. I will buy if you release. I just want everything to work perfectly.
Awesome. Thank you. I will be sure to pick Krax and Trogs for my next game!
