I bought it, but only played a little. To me, it is about the same as the original. I am playing StarDrive myself.
Rhaegor
I will buy now for access to "beta". Put it up already!!!
Honestly, I'd wait for AoW3 if I had to make a choice.
Happily playing StarDrive Beta until this comes out. Depending how good LH is it is going to be rough deciding which to play.
Mounts are one of those "choices" that are no choice at all. You use them once you can and there is no reason not to. They should have some sort of cost or negative or something that makes the decision to use them an actual decision or choice.
No idea why we have turn limits.
I wonder if in another 10 years people will still be complaining about Steam.
WTF? Steam is mandatory for LH?!? Who though that is a good idea? :/ I do! I love having all my games in the same place and easily downloadable from anywhere or to any PC!

I didn't ask them to input your silly designs and I don't want that in my main core game. My designs are better anyway I don't just throw mine together without thought.
Cry more.

I also like playing basketball with my 8'6" tall Nigerian team against a bunch of midgets in wheelchairs. To each their own I say! That is, of course, a straw man argument. Nobody is asking for an AI that just rolls over and let's the player win. All we're asking for is that the AI doesn't base its decis

You need to log in first, though. Just checked, it's definitely in there. Look in "My Account" then "Order History"
I bought it from Steam and am not showing any order history.
Even if an AI likes you very very much all game, if you are about to win, or getting close, they should still want to ally with their other allies to destroy you, or prevent you from winning. The AI should not just let the player win regardless of past relationships as they should want to win themselves. Now, mid-game or whatever, friends should be friends unless they have a very good reason to turn on you, like they really really need a resource you have, or your town
I am sad that this discussion has become all about Steam rather than the great features and changes that are being brought to the world of Elemental.
Agreed. And it is pointless to whine about it because it isn't going to change either way.
Just like any other game of this type. I am hoping for the best, expect the worst, and will wait to read AoW 3 forums and other game related forums I visit to decide if I will purchase. Though I know sometimes I can't help myself and buy it regardless thinking that I will make my own decision, which may turn out bad or good.

So everyone that gets it will have it on Steam, no matter where they purchase it from (even if they purchase directly from Stardock). The left side of the screen where your city and unit list is needs to be improved. Please make it easier to find stuff there. When you have 15 cities and lots of units is a huge pain to use that thing. Also, there is a mod that extends the info panel on the bottom and adds circle outlines to where you can enchant cities so you can see cities that have openings for enchantments. I love that mod, and it probably would be a simple improvement to the UI th
If you have issues with Steam it is user error. Steam rocks. Been using it for like 10 years. I love how no matter how many times I reformat or get another computer I can just redownload my games. I never understood the hate for Steam. Plus they have AWESOME sales like 3 or 4 times a year. %75 off is really nice.
Paid $40 for FE on Steam in December. *cry* I will still buy it though, assuming people around here say it is good. =D
There is a nice mod that makes it easier to see the open circles on the city banner and it also makes other much needed UI improvements.
I love fantasy strategy games, and will buy both Age of Empires III and I am beta testing Eador actually. I am playing a lot Civ5 right now, and if Elemental had the balance Civ5 has between the various research choices and expansion decisions and pretty darn good strategical AI and AI diplomacy it would be more fun for me than Civ5 as I like the fantasy side of things more. I would like to see this game polished. If you need to get rid of tactical battles, that is fine, a
Mages and other ranged magic users are already a bit OP.
