I put desktop icons in unnamed non-rollup frames to solve their disappearance. But when I click on any app W-C-S is toggled off! The toggle should stay on until I toggle it off.

That I know! It makes that mode useless to me.

Win10 v21h2 B 19004.2728F Fences 4.10 The Win-Ctl-Space toggle causes all shortcut icons on desktop not in a fence to disappear. Same thing happens when Win-Space is used, but that is not an issue.

Maybe I lucked out. The installer would not let me change the install location to where I had the previous version installed. It installed in the default location so I am still using the previous version.

Fixed, For some reason it wasn't enabled at startup but right clicking the screen started it.

No icons or fences on desktop at startup until right click on screen. Quick-hide disabled made no difference. Could it be Fences not giving up control at startup like a background program should?

Roll-up is similar to minimize on a regular window. I would like an Expand which would extend the fence to the bottom of the screen, sort of like maximize a window. And a Restore back to the manually sized fence.

That was just an example to show the problem. I should not need to put every icon in a fence. I should not need to lock all the fences and then unlock them when I want to move them. Transparency was discussed elsewhere and is a design bug for high resolution screens.

The middle of the screen contains about fifty regular win 10 icons in various length columns. Create a fence on the left side of the screen and try moving it to the right side of the screen. Any icon in its path is push ahead of the fence rather than left in place. If I can not get this feature turn off and the background transparency fixed then Fences is unacceptable.

These are icons not in any fence. These is nothing to lock with only one fence.

Is there anyway to keep a fence being moved from pushing all the other desktop icons around?

Reinstalled version 3.0.8.1. Same result. My guess it has to do with the screen resolution ( correction 1920x1200) and scaling factor 200%. It looks like the background is compressed and then re-expanded making it blurry.

I am using Win 10 Home version 1709. Dual screen 1600x1200. A Hubble background image. I just installed the trial versions of Fences and Groupy off the Stardock site. I tried changing all the Color sliders. Transparency went from black to what looks like a black bathroom window. Fences also leaves the icon positions a mess when I turn it off so each trial takes a while to undo.

I already tried that. As I said. the best I got was a very fuzzy background merged with black. Not transparent at all.

How to get a transparent background? Best I seem to get is a very fuzzy merge with black.

Next reboot enabled Fences2. I was trying to make it act more like a menu. I would like to click on a fence object and have it open like a menu showing all the contents. Select an item and have it close. A folder full of program short cuts doesn't make it as a fence object since it doesn't close.

I installed Fences2 in another directory but it doesn't seem to be active while Fences1 is running. How do I test it to see if any of the new features are useful to me while not loosing my fences 1 setup?
