I don't have a release date for the final version of ObjectDock Plus v2 at this time. We're shooting for a new beta release in the summer.
Dewie
I'll add it to the wishlist for ObjectDock v2
Hiding a showing the dock via hotkey combo is not currently supported, but I like the idea.
Can you please post a screenshot of what you are seeing?
I don't have any information about the potential for sharing settings between accounts at this time. One thing that you can do is export your registry entries from the account already setup with Fences, then import them into the un-configured account. HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Stardock\Fences
Spika, I don't see any emails from you in our support system. What problem are you specifically running into with Impulse?
Does an uninstall, then reinstall, resolve the issue?
If you're referring to the flyout menus that the previous iteration of ObjectDock had, then this is something that is on the wishlist.
Impulse isn't a service, it's merely a download manager application. Once you have downloaded and installed your software, you can close it and never run it again. Impulse Now that runs on startup can be disabled by right-clicking on its tray icon, selecting "Settings" and disabling the load at Windows startup option. Note that the system requirements list Impulse as a requirement for downloading and installing ObjectDock: https:
being able to drag and drop files into folders that are on the dock would be sweet
Currently, ObjectDock only links to items (directories, shortcuts, etc) and has no capacity for file manipulation at all. The problem with allowing file manipulation in ObjectDock is that it could cause problems with files getting misplaced. I could potentially see this in ObjectDock, but not by default.
Just wondering what to expect here -- 3, 6 months, a year, etc.
Sorry, I don't have any specific information regarding future ObjectDock beta releases.
Fences can only be locked in the sense that the fences themselves can't be moved. The contents, however, can still be moved. While the Fences installation itself can be shared between accounts, the registry entries are not shared between accounts, so the settings don't carry over.
What makes you say that Impulse is a resource hog? How much of your RAM and CPU is Impulse currently utilizing? I'm downloading a game right now and it's at ~20 MB RAM and 2% CPU.
So that you can try before you buy, there is a free version of CursorFX available for download here: https://www.stardock.com/products/cursorfx/downloads.asp
I'm glad to hear it! The thought of losing files can be a scary one. A few years ago I lost my primary and backup hard drives at the same time, so I know data loss can be very inconvenient. I definitely recommend making a backup of important files, and making two backups of very important files.
The amount of demand for this product doesn't warrant a whole lot of developer time. There has been talk regarding a new iteration of WindowFX, but I'm not aware of a release schedule at this time.
Thanks for the suggestions. Many of these are already logged as bugs and wishlist items. I have added the remaining items to the list.
ObjectDock only links to directories. ObjectDock doesn't even have the capacity to do any sort of file/folder manipulation. If files are moved and/or missing, then it isn't related to ObjectDock.
There is currently no list functionality, but you can adjust the size of icons on your desktop by holding down 'Ctrl' and scrolling with the mouse wheel.
To try to resolve the crash, try verifying ObjectDock through Impulse: -Launch Impulse. Right click on the entry for the application and choose "Verify Installation" -Impulse will check the integrity of the installed application. You should be given feedback as to the state of the installed application. -If errors are found, an update should be made available in Impulse. This is not an update to a newer version, but simply Impulse using the update mechan

I don't know of any plans to bring Window FX to Windows 7
One thing to note is that if you plan on using both versions, they do share the same settings folder. This means that any changes made to one version of the dock will affect the other.
If you haven't already, send us an email at support@stardock.com referencing this thread.
If Impulse verifies that Fences is installed correctly, I recommend sending an email to support@stardock.com referencing this thread.
