You could use Keyboard Launchpad to run ObjectDock with a hotkey: https://www.stardock.com/products/klp/ I use it every day. Is this plug? Absolutely. :D

Fences requires .NET Framework 2.0 to be installed, so please ensure you have that. Note that while newer Windows versions come with .NET, XP does not. Try uninstalling Fences completely and then run the file below: http://sd.stardock.com/curtHendzell/clear_fences_settings.reg Once you do this, reboot and reinstall the latest version through Impulse.
If you decide to go the ObjectDock Plus v2 beta route, please post beta feedback here (bugs, feature suggestions, etc): https://forums.stardock.com/379048 You're certainly not obligated to, but the more bugs we know about, the more we can fix.
Just wanted to let everyone know that I'm still watching this forum thread and taking notes. I appreciate all the ideas and bug reports.
The alternative to sorting rules would be to place the icons in each fence manually. It can be a pain, but once you have it set up you're good to go. Also, you can take a snapshot under Configure Fences -> Tools -> Snapshots to make sure that you don't lose how you have your icons set up. I imagine future releases will offer more sorting rules, but I don't know what Jeff specifically has planned.
The available rules are sorting based on: Name Type File Size By creating program By time of the day By day of the week Unfortunately, the available sorting rules don't include sorting based on the icon's origination.
Not through ObjectDock itself. Just off the top of my head, you could write a script that opens and closes ObjectDock (based on which command line argument it receives) that you could call with Keyboard Launchpad: https://www.stardock.com/products/klp/
Try disabling "Show pre-release versions" in Impulse. Deskscapes v3.20 is now available.
Would you look at that.... I can reproduce this consistently. I'll forward this bug to the developer. Thanks for your report.
Can you please post a screenshot of what you are seeing?
Season Finale tomorrow
Flyout menus are not implemented in the current ObjectDock Plus 2 beta.
What I suggested could fix the problem, but it was more for diagnostics. Also, if this becomes a problem, go ahead and send an email to support@stardock.com .
At this point I would recommend sending an email to support@stardock.com .
Thank you for your feedback for ObjectDock v2.0 beta. Impulse is required to download, install and update Stardock applications, as stated in the system requirements on the product page. The system tray icons look the way they do because they are being scaled up from their original (small) size. There is no easy fix for this, as the developers of the applications themselves have not created higher resolution icons for the system tray. To create animated icons for even a fraction of the possib
If you kill 'explorer.exe' under the processes tab in task manager, then click File -> New Task (Run...), then enter 'explorer.exe' minus the quotes and hit the Enter key, do they then display properly?
So, on right-click you don't have View -> Exclude this fence from quick-hide? Try uninstalling Fences completely and then run the file below: http://sd.stardock.com/curtHendzell/clear_fences_settings.reg Once you do this, reboot and reinstall the latest version through Impulse.
As the settings window isn't re-sizable, it doesn't handle higher dpi fonts very well. I'm not sure if this is going to get fixed, but I will pass it by the developer.
Not really. ObjectDock relies on its settings being stored under the user's profile. This behavior is hard coded into ObjectDock, and cannot be changed.
To clarify, are the icons in the correct places, but the fences themselves aren't rendered?
I believe this is because Jeff is using debug versions of his DLLs for ObjectDock. It's most definitely not a fatal error, and everything should work fine. I'm fairly certain that this occurs with all installations of ObjectDock v2 Beta.
Please remove MyColors through the control panel in Windows safe mode, then while still in safe mode please try the following: -For VISTA/7 Users: click Start, in the start search field type 'cmd'. What is the name of the compatibility application that you are running when you are running Starcraft?
Try wiping Impulse completely with the following removal tool: http://sd.stardock.com/curtHendzell/CleanImpulse.exe Once you do this, please reboot and reinstall Impulse from the latest installer: http://www.impulsedriven.com/impulse_setup_full.exe
That's odd. Does he have the settings folder itself? The settings folder can be backed up by zipping its contents, then restoring them back to that folder when you want to restore to a different computer or operating system installation. The folder can be found here: XP: C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Local Settings\Application Data\Stardock\ObjectDockPlus Vista/7: C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Stardock\ObjectDockPlus You'll need to replace USERNAM
