I created my start panel with a slight drop shadow and transparent sides so that it wont be completely touching the side of the screen when applied. So the sizes of the various parts (Userpane, Programs, etc) will include the actual start panel aswell as the drop shadow and transparent sides (as shown in the image that I posted earlier). So I'd rather not use the method you mentioned about "no blank space around the sides to deal with." Basically, here's how I do it: I draw th

Since I cut each section right on the slice lines, each part SHOULD fit together when imported into SKS. But they don't. And it's driving me insane!
I divided my startpanel the same way
hey man i think the problem is your right side panel and you need to cut it the same size as the left panel, and all programs as if they were one but cut it out of the right side...you get me??
Im not sure what you mean, but every tutorial on how to create start panels always has the Programs section shorter than the List (left) side because the More Programs section goes under the Programs section and both the Programs section
I've been racking my brain trying to understand why this wont work. I created a startpanel in Photoshop , cropped each of the 5 parts that make up the whole startpanel, and saved each section as it's own .png image. I then imported the images into SKS 6 Professional and the pieces dont fit together flush. So I tried adjusting the margins and went to the Extra's tab and typed in the image sizes but STILL ....No matter what settings I use, the start panel is distorted. Here
This is what I was told. But the guys englis isnt so good, so can sum1 explain? https://forums.stardock.com/345741/page/2
I was told that inorder to get this black box away, DWM needs to be set to "Run". Anyone know where I can find DWM and how to set it to Run?

Notice also that although the Edges of the explorer windows and a small spot in the middle of the startpanel ARE transperent, When I open WB and set them to be more transparent, it doesnt make them any more transparent. And there's STILL that white edge around the taskbar and the Black box under the bottom left side of the startpanel. The only thing that happened is that the taskbar got lighter, but not transarent. Here's a screenshot: <img src="http://i161.photobucket.com/albums
Well, I upgraded to Vista Premium because I was told that it would allow for WB transparency on the Taskbars and Startpanels. But it looks exactly the same ( No transparency ). I'm not sure what went wrong. I've tried applying a number of different styles and I'm getting the same lousy results (NO Transparency). I was told that non perpixel skins may be the reason. But how do I know whether a style was created with perpixel skins so that I can apply that one? And suppose I want to use a certa

As soon as I install Vista Ultimate, the taskbar transparency issued SHOULD be resolved. But I would like to have the issue of the black box behind the start panel resolved. When I initially applied the SL style on my laptop (currently running Vista Home Basic) there was NO black box behind the startpanel. "You betcha it does and WindowBlinds never looked better!" Great cuz I just picked up a Full Vista Ulitmate CD.
Will Vista ULIMATE (Full Aero) support transparency on Start Panel and Taskbar tho?
Thanks, looks like Premium will do me just fine. Any word on when it drops for the general public to purchase?
Does anyone know whether Windows 7 has this same Vista issue?
As I recently found out, Vista Home Basic cannot support Transparency like xP due to it lacking the necessary WDDM drivers. Now, I'm no Tech-Wiz, but when ever I needed OTHER types of drivers for other programs to run on my PC, I was able to simply download and install them. So, (and please dont laugh if this sounds stupid, but) cant the WDDM drivers be copies or extracted from xP and then installed on Vista inorder to get transparency support for Windowblinds?
Your version of WindowBlinds is a few builds behind. If you can, update WindowBlinds using Impulse and reboot. Not sure if this will help but recent updates have been made to correct certain issues.
No good. I installed the latest WB build, rebooted, and STILL, i get the white sides and no transparency. Oh well! Maybe windows 7 will be better.
